I thought I would post this in this forum - as it seemed more appropriate- but I was going to do Thank-you cards after LO arrived, for gifts and money etc ppl bought for our baby- do a picture and incorporate the announcements with thank-yous but my mom was saying do them now- before LO arrives.
how should I do the wording? what do you suggest- wait till LO arrives and incorporate announcements- or do separate thank-you's? TIA
Re: Thank-you cards
I dont think a thank you and an announcement serve the same purpose. The first is to write a personal note for the time/gift/whatever and express your heartfelt thanks. The second is to let everyone know about your baby. Doing both at the same time might work if your shower was very late in your pregnancy AND you were a machine about getting them right out as soon as baby is born but that a lot harder than just sending out two cards.
Thank you cards should be sent immediately after a gift was received. i.e. after your shower, or whenever someone gives you a gift. These should be individualized to each person.
A birth announcement is something entirely different, and can be a generic card including a picture sent to everyone after the birth of the baby.
