So the belly is coming along. Wondering what you ladies are doing to reduce stretch marks. I heard olive oil worked wonders but I hate the idea of putting it on my skin.
Yup, I spent a fortune last time buying pure vitamin E and cocoa butter to prevent stretch marks. My stomach looks like a road map. No amount of creams or oils will prevent them. Just lotion up to prevent uncomfortable stretching.
Any ol' lotion will work better than any other ol' lotion to help you be comfortable and to manage stretch marks about as much as you're gonna be able to. It's allllllll genetics.
I used a lot of ecofriendly type lotions (like coconut oil or vitamin e oil) during my first pregnancy and was stretch mark free until the very end, when my stomach broke out in marks everywhere. They are pretty much a part of me now, I don't even really mind them.
I will say, though, if you're going to put anything on your body directly over your baby, I'd check it on the EWG cosmetic database, to determine how safe it is for your body. Things like BioOil and some of the other really popular creams women use tend to be really bad in terms of the chemicals you are putting into/onto your body.

I use Palmer's Coco Butter for Stretch Marks, morning and night before bed. Even if it doesn't really help, it makes me feel better. The only thing I don't like about it is it's a very intense moisturizer, so I have to walk around naked or at least shirtless for a good 20 minutes so the lotion can sink into my skin and I'm not sticky.
The main thing I've read is making sure that your belly stays moisturized, to some extent that WILL help. So I make sure I'm using my everyday lotion also (I do live in the desert though, that may not be necessary for you to do).
I read a mixture of old fashioned Crisco, tuna juice, mustard, Louisiana Hot sauce, and semen will fix and new or old stretchmarks... does work best if you wrap the whole midsection in plastic wrap as well.
so let me know if it works.

Re: Creams for reducing stretch marks?
It's all about genetics. If you're going to get them, no amount of cream or oil will prevent them.
The only thing you can do is make sure your skin is moisturized so the stretching doesn't bother you as much.
ETA: This includes the high dollar "guaranteed to work" lotions and oils. Don't waste your money.

This. I just use Vaseline lotion to help with the itchiness. If you're gonna get stretch marks, you're gonna get stretch marks.

Comes with the territory if it's in your genetics.
Seriously who really cares. Battle scars.
