December 2012 Moms

My amazing child...

...went to bed last night at 8:30p and did not wake this morning until 11a, when I woke him up.  He stayed up to eat and play until 1, and has been napping since.  It is now a little after 3.  I'm hoping he'll wake soon, because I've finished the laundry, ironing, cleaned the kitchen, vacuumed, written a few blog posts, watched project runway, and now I'm just bored.  He needs to wake up so we can play.  :)

I'm probably doomed with the second child, because really, could it get any better than this kiddo?  I think not.

Re: My amazing child...

  • My kid is about your kid's polar opposite.  He hardly ever naps...ever.  And he at times still doesn't make it through the night without hollering for me.

     You're lucky!  Enjoy it!

  • Wow! Does he normally sleep this much? If not then I hope he's not getting sick. My little sister would sleep like this right before a bad ear infection and cold.

I find it very sweet that you can't wait for him to wake up do you can play together ;)

Oh, I used to love when DS would have random days like that. Sleeping in.....  ahhhhh.

  • I am so so so very jealous right now.  My DD has decided that sleeping in her bed is not cool and that sleeping with Mommy is better.  She will cry until she pukes too.  I am at my wit's end here.

  • BTW I clicked on your blog and read about curling your hair. Do you think that would work with a regular iorn? I don't have one of the wands and I doubt I'll ever buy one but I have really straight hair too and would love if this works lol

I think she ended up doing it with a regular iron, if memory serves, because the wacky conical one was impossible. :) Correct me if I'm wrong, Peony!

He is actually an amazing sleeper, STTN at 7 weeks, and then now sleeps still most nights 12-14 hours a night plus 1-2 naps per day (no shorter than an hour, hour and a half each if two naps, sometimes up to four hours if it is only one nap).  I'm wondering if his top canines are finally getting finished coming in, those were the last ones we were waiting on to really get all the way through, so that might have something to do with it!

And yes, normal curling iron!  I hated the curling 'wand' and found it to be a waste of money.  Stick with your normal curling iron and check out the tutorial I linked in the post, it is awesome and lasted me a full three days after doing it before bed one night.  So, I had slept on it three nights in a row and it still looked good the third day when I woke up!
