At my appointment last week the doctor sounded sure that if nothing had happened by today he was going to schedule an induction. He also said he would do an internal exam today.
After passing my NST, he is letting me wait until next Tuesday (when I will be 40w2d) to schedule an induction. DH was really disappointed, but I am glad we have a little more time for LO to make his appearance on his own. And he didn't do an internal (noting that it doesn't make much difference). I do have another NST and ultrasound on Friday at the maternal-fetal medicine office, so there is still a chance they may want to induce, but at least now I have a few more days!
Re: Doctor is letting me wait it out!
OMG that is awesome!! Gives me some hope.
I had my appt today(NST was good/still no dilation) so dr is letting me wait to be induced until next mon or tues(unless LO comes before then).
I kept looking for an update post from you today! Glad your doctor is letting you wait. I thought about you after my appointment. Do pelvic tilts/rocking, squats, and sit on a yoga/birth ball as much as possible. My chiropractor said to do the pelvic tilts/squats whenever I feel LO moving because if baby's moving when I'm doing that, it will be easier for him to move into position. I also read gyrating your hips while on the yoga ball works well, like you're using a hula-hoop. These are some of the main things I think have helped me by allowing his head to get into position so that he can put pressure on my cervix and make it open! And at every appointment the doctors and nurses have been recommending lots of sex, they say the prostaglandins in semen really do help soften the cervix. Haven't done that one much cuz its not easy and not as fun when it's for "business" but if it will get baby out before induction, why not, right?! Good luck!
