I posted last week about failing the early 1 hour with a level of 184 and today was my 3 hour. My fasting level was 76, 1 hour was 201 (fail), 2 hour was 144, and 3 hour was 108! Since I only failed one out of four, it's considered passing and I don't need to do anything special except repeat the 3 hour around 24 weeks.
So.. If you fail the 1 hour horribly like I did, it doesn't automatically mean you'll fail the 3!
The drink isn't horrible but fasting during morning sickness is not ideal. I was craving a cracker or something to calm my nausea this AM. The nurses let me lay down between draws and so I powered through it.
However, I had a mad sugar "crash" about 45 minutes after I left and my whole body got hot, trembling, and I felt like my head was going to just fall back at any instant and my body would just drop to the ground. Not fun! I was standing inside Five Guys, holding onto the counter to keep myself upright and chugging Cherry Coke. I recommend bringing some glucose tablets or candy with you to eat afterwards if you do the 3 hour. I did NOT have that reaction after the 1 hour!

That's great news, congrats!!!
Wow, I didn't realize how sick that test could make you. I will keep that in mind if I end up doing the 3 hr.
I think it just depends on how your body processes the sugar. I had pretty dramatic drops according to the nurses (they did not expect me to pass the 2 hour draw after my 1 hour was over 200) so my reaction could have been due to that. I've seen people be perfectly fine, too. It's worth asking about foods that are ideal for eating afterwards, if you do the 3 hour!
