July 2012 Moms

1st day alone with DD...

My mom is OOT for work and all of my friends that are off for the summer are at inservice today so I am by myself completely with DD until DH gets home from work. I REALLY hope he doesn't have to stay late. I'm so nervous. It seems to be going okay so far (she refused to nap earlier and was up for 3 1/2 hours in one stretch!), but I'm so nervous!

Please tell me it gets less scary... I don't know how I'm going to do it if DH has to go to Australia for 3-4 weeks for work...

  • It gets better.. I BAWLED the first day that I was by myself. It just takes a little time to get the hang of it. Hang in there and enjoy the time with your LO.

You'll be fine :) I was alone with DD the morning after we got home from the hospital (we didn't get home until midnight the night before!) and I was 3 days post op from my c/s. I was a bit nervous but everything worked out :)

  • It does get a lot easier...I am even running errands alone with her now :)  I did get freaked out when she stayed awake for 4 hours, though...but the doc says that sometimes happens.

I have had so much company that I really enjoy our days to ourselves now!

  • I am sure you are doing a great job! You and DD can enjoy your day together....don't fret!

Depending on when it is and how comfortable you are you could always go with him, and visit me ;)

Seriously though it does get easier ... Just take it day by day... Some days will be good and productive, some days won't be productive, and some days won't be much fun but you can get through them.

I don't know if we can handle the crazy long flight with a baby as our first venture on a plane with her. DH and I have discussed it, though.

Today has actually gone really well, though. She has been super easy today. Only a little more than an hour and my sis will be here to see DD, then DH will be home!
