I know we don't all agree on the scale etc. but I'd love to hear what those of us who are planning have figured out so far. Plus it will be nice to have it all in one post. Thanks for sharing!

Re: POLL: If You're Doing A 1st B-Day Party (and have already started planning)
Your Theme: No real theme
Your Location: My Dad's house...he has lots of outdoor space we plan to use if the weather is nice.
Your Guest Count: Around 30 people
Decor Ideas So Far: Wildflowers in little vases, maybe a "Happy Birthday" banner and a few balloons...we're keeping it very simple.
Menu Ideas So Far: Grilled chicken, burgers/hot dogs, grilled veggies, deviled eggs, pasta salad, crab dip. For dessert Alba will get a smash cake. We'll have a simple cake and creme de menthe brownies for everyone else.
Outfit Ideas So Far: Not sure yet...I may steal Penny's idea or something similar.
Activities/Entertainment (e.g. The Bubble Guy who was at a 1st birthday I recently attended - the kids loved it) No real activities/entertainment. We'll only have 1-4 kids there (plus DD.) My dad's house has a swingset and we will have sidewalk chalk and bubbles for the kids to play with.
POLL
Your Theme: Mickey mouse (colors are red, black and yellow)
Your Location: my house
Your Guest Count: probably 20, it's just our two families
Decor Ideas So Far: I'm getting a banner made and I found this giant wire A I'm going to spray paint red for the fireplace (where he will do presents) I am printing all of his month pictures and attaching to Mickey mouse scrapbook paper and hanging on the window behind where the cake will be set up I have a cute little centerpiece idea I want to make and it will probably go where the food is set up at.
Menu Ideas So Far: DH is grilling hamburgers and hot dogs. There will be chips and dip and I also want to have some cups of popcorn. And of course, cake and ice cream!
Outfit Ideas So Far: he's probably just going to wear shorts with a Mickey shirt. I don't want anything birthday specific because we are going to Disney in January and I want him to be able to wear it then.
Activities/Entertainment (e.g. The Bubble Guy who was at a 1st birthday I recently attended - the kids loved it) no entertainment.
Anything else you want to share.

Your Theme: Owls probably
Your Location: My parents house/yard
Your Guest Count: Probably 30 to 50 people
Decor Ideas So Far: Decorations from my shower plus a few birthday banners and things
Menu Ideas So Far: Pizza and food from MH's family's deli
Outfit Ideas So Far: Probably a onesie and tutu
Activities/Entertainment (e.g. The Bubble Guy who was at a 1st birthday I recently attended - the kids loved it) None, there aren't that many kids and there are plenty of toys, a putting green, pool table, darts and a movie theater in the basement if they want
Anything else you want to share.
Your Theme: Balloons
Your Location: Our house
Your Guest Count: Around 40 people (15-20 of whom are family)
Decor Ideas So Far: Lots of balloons, flowers, colors. I want to do a collage in teh shape of the #1 with photos of her as well.
Menu Ideas So Far: Sandwich platter, dip/chips, drinks, cake, smach cake and some other smaller dessert items
Outfit Ideas So Far: I want a smocked balloon bubble. I saw one on Etsy and I am obsessed.
Activities/Entertainment (e.g. The Bubble Guy who was at a 1st birthday I recently attended - the kids loved it) Water table, play house, balls around. We have a huge yard so I just plan to let the kids run around.
Your Theme: At first I was just going to do pink/orange/brown, but now I'm thinking I might throw a few butterflies in the mix.
Your Location: Either at our local yacht club or town meeting hall.
Your Guest Count: Probably around 30 or 40
Decor Ideas So Far: I'm not much of a decoration person (mainly because I suck at it haha) .. As long as the tablecloths, paper plates, plasticware, and napkins coordinate I'll be happy.. oh and maybe some balloons? I don't know.
Menu Ideas So Far: DH has a small catering business on the side, and he said he wants to cook for it. I think he's nuts but he says he really wants to. We shall see. It would be mostly Italian foods. For dessert, I plan on ordering cupcakes from the same woman who made them for our wedding last year.. they were to die for! L will also get a special "smash cake" .. although I must admit, I'm a bit nervous for her to try to "eat" it...
Outfit Ideas So Far: Ideally, I would want her to wear a cute dress that compliments the color theme. Realistically, I'll probably put a onesie and pants on her.
Activities/Entertainment (e. g. The Bubble Guy who was at a 1st birthday I recently attended - the kids loved it) The only activities I have planned are for the adults. They all involve drinking haha.
Anything else you want to share. I have spent way too much time trying to figure this whole 1st birthday thing out... but I must admit, I kind of enjoy it.
Oh also, I might copy MrsMo (I think that's the right bumpie?) with her awesome invitations.
ETA: more info for Menu category.
Your Theme: Pumpkins. DH planted a bunch as favors recently
Your Location: Our house
Your Guest Count: 40-50. 15 are children!
Decor Ideas So Far: Pumpkins all around. Still thinking about what else.
Menu Ideas So Far: We love our food trucks in LA so we're doing the grilled cheese truck. They have dozens of amazing sandwiches.
Outfit Ideas So Far: No idea so far.
Activities/Entertainment (e.g. The Bubble Guy who was at a 1st birthday I recently attended - the kids loved it) Stations - one with tunnels and balls, one with art supplies one with musical instruments and one with blocks and stuff for building. Also a sandbox and maybe a bubble station. Basically we're putting all of her toys out on the lawn in groups.
Anything else you want to share.
Theme: Under the sea.
Location: The multipurpose area at church
Guest Count: Keeping it around 50
Decor ideas: I could probably go for pages about all the ideas I have. I will not do all of these ideas and I will only list some of them. I am going to make a sandy coral wall design with streamers and brown paper. Use streamers in the corners and around to look like waves and coral. Little fish bowls with something in them (haven't decided yet) as centerpieces. Putting legs on red plates to look like crabs.
Menu: This really depends on what time we end up doing it. So far I'm think submarine sandwiches, peanut butter and jellyfish sandwiches, cold salads, the cute crinkle cut cute looking cucumber cream cheese and meat things (notice I still have no clever name for them,) punch, various desserts and finger foods. Cake will look like a beach or ocean or something. Cake pops that look like star fish.
Outfit: I am the birthday girl onesie and a tutu bottom made with aqua and blue colors. ( I still have to make this)
Activites: I am not sure about activities yet. I bought an Octopus ring toss game and I hope to plan at least one more. The games aren't going to be all at once kind of things I am thinking more come and go and play deals. Maybe a kiddie pool with little balls or something...I don't know yet.
Quick question for all you ladies. Being that most parties will be in Oct. anyone that is having something outside, (east coast) are you nervous about the weather? I am planning to have a party in my MIL backyard but her house isnt big enough inside to move inside if the weather is crappy.
Your Theme: Pink Nautical
Your Location: Hall at our local Knights of Columbus. It has windows that overlook the ocean (hence the nautical theme)
Your Guest Count: appx 60
Decor Ideas So Far:
- I made a custom "Happy Birthday" banner from Shindigz.com (appx $20 & good quality)
-Purchased Birght pink & Navy crepe paper streamer stuff. I got some glittered navy anchors from Shindigz and will put an anchor at each point when I hang the crepe paper like bunting
- I'm making a banner thing that will have each of her monthly pictures strung together so everyone can see how she has changed over the year.
-The tables will have (plastic) navy table cloths on them. For the centerpieces, I will have little vases with pink carnations in them. I will have some pink balloons coming out of the top of the centerpieces (I will anchor the balloon ties in the vases via a metal washer and some navy colored stones).
- I purchased an anchor paper punch and will punch a ton of pink and navy anchors. The anchors will serve as confetti sprinkled on all of the tables.
- Since the tables will have navy tablecloths, I got pink plates, cups and forks/spoons/knives
- I got some random serving platters from the Christmas Tree Shop that are navy blue with little white sailboats on them.
- These are the napkins I bought:
These are the invites: I'm debating adding a navy punched anchor to the center to create a seal-type thing.
Menu Ideas So Far: So far I'm thinking chicken parm, stuffed shells and maybe a MYO Meatball sub. For dessert: cake (obv), anchor shaped cookies, cupcakes with a pink candy anchor sticking out of the (possibly blue) frosting on top, and maybe these jello/swedish fish things.
Outfit Ideas So Far: I got a really cute Sailor dress off ebay for $2 ! (score!)
Activities/Entertainment: Not sure, yet. It really depends on how many kids end up coming.

Do you know what shade of pink you are doing & appx how many invites? I have 20 (I think) really light pink petalfolds that I didn't end up using. I also have appx 15 extra of the bright pink one's I used. They are yours if you want them !

Activities/Entertainment (e.g. The Bubble Guy who was at a 1st birthday I recently attended - the kids loved it): There won't be many kids there, but it still doesn't take much for my family to have fun! I'll have mustaches for the guys to wear and lips for the girls. We'll be doing photo-booth style pictures.
Anything else you want to share.
That's all I got so far
Your Theme: The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Your Location: Our house
Your Guest Count: Maybe 20-30 people? Mostly family.
Decor Ideas So Far: I've Pinned a lot of ideas, but my favorite idea is the tutorial from PBK on how to make a caterpillar out of paper lanterns so I'm definitely going to try that!
Menu Ideas So Far: Haven't thought about food yet! Except for the cake, which will be cupcakes as the body of the caterpillar and a small round cake as its head (also from Pinterest).
Outfit Ideas So Far: I found a cute LS caterpillar onesie on Gymboree's website... I just need to order it before they're all gone!
Activities/Entertainment: ??? Probably not much... is that wrong?
eta: Darn! Gymbo is out of the LS onesie... I may have to get the SS one instead and find a cute hoodie to go over it.
Oh I knew I liked you! LOL. I would probably send out both colors (and make sure people that got one color don't know the people who got the other color haha) Yea, I'm klassy like that.
How does this work now.. do I PM you my address? I'm clueless when it comes to sending stuff to my online "friends" lol
Your Theme: Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails
Your Location: Local park
Your Guest Count: ? Right now the guest list is like 40 something, but I'm sure a lot of those people (like DH's family) won't come.
Decor Ideas So Far: We're pretty much using the park as decor. We'll cover the picnic tables with burlap-type fabric, and have lots of balloons since my kid adores balloons.
Menu Ideas So Far:
Outfit Ideas So Far: I don't think I'm going to have any special outfit, but maybe I'll be inspired.
Activities/Entertainment (e.g. The Bubble Guy who was at a 1st birthday I recently attended - the kids loved it) Probably just the park - duck pond, some balls/frisbees, etc.
Yes, just PM me your address
I have to go to the post office during lunch tomorrow, anyways, so I can just send them off then. Since I'm also in MA, you should get them pretty quick.
