Anyone else having light spotting?

I'm 5 wks 6 days and went to the dr yesterday due to light spotting. I noticed a light peachy/brown when I wiped and of course panicked and cried. I went to the Dr and they did an ultrasound and all looks good. I'd never thought I'd be so excited to see a little grainy blob on a screen..lol. She said it may be due to the placenta estabishing its blood supply and as long as it's not heavy or painful I should be fine.

Apparently I tend to spot a lot. I spotted for 5 days (I thought it was a period) during implantation. I'm hoping it's just normal for me, but it's still nerve wrecking. It's my first pregnancy, and after meeting with the fertility Dr on Monday to look into starting rounds of clomid I found out the next day I was already pregnant. lol..I had no idea I was looking for help getting pregnant and already had a bun in the oven. =)

Anyone else having/had spotting?

Re: Anyone else having light spotting?

  • Yes.  I spotted last week on Wednesday and Sunday night and all yesterday.  I can't tell you whether my embryo is viable or not though, because I haven't had a U/S.  I freaked out too and spent all day on the internet but apparently it happens and either its a sign of a MC, or its perfectly normal, so you just have to be patient and wait and see!  (I know, I hate being patient, too).

I'm right with you and, of course, freaking out.  I had some last week that was light in color and managed to calm myself.  But now I am having more this week, brighter in color, and I'm a mess again.  I've been working with an RE, so I've had an ultrasound on the calender for a bit.  It's scheduled for Thursday.  They just flat out wouldn't do one earlier than that even with my spotting concerns.  It's been really frustrating.

I'm also on Progesterone suppositories so it's hard to even trust what my body is telling me.  Plus it makes everything "Down there" a little more confusing and complicated.

Anyway, I'm sorry you're going through this and stressed out.  But I'm right there with you!  Glad you were able to have an ultrasound to give you a bit of peace of mind.

  • I had red spotting last monday and again more on frday. My doctor brought me in for an ultrasound yesterday and everything was right now track where it's supposed to be. It seems like spotting can either be a bad sign or it can be absolutely nothing. I understand how much it sucks not knowing which it's going to be, but try to relax a little in the knowledge that this could be nothing and everything is fine!

  • I was having some light brown spotting last night into today. I'm just going to keep an eye on it for now. My first appointment is in a week.

  • Me too, but mine was a bit more than spotting.  I thought I had miscarried since it lasted 5 days, but I'm definetly feeling even more pregnant lately.  The naseau is getting really bad now.  I even went and did a blood draw at a nearby hospital to find out if I was pregnant because the home ones said negative.  The blood draw even said negative also but this is totally normal for me and has happened in the past also with other pregnancies.  I'm hoping next week I will get a positive.  It's driving me nuts waiting especially since I've already had 1 miscarriage before our  last baby.

I am on progesterone suppositiories too.  I had pink spotting last week.  The nurse told me that it was scary but no big deal.  I had an ultrasound on Friday.  There was one perfect little baby.  The applicator was causing irritation to my cervix.  I changed the position I use during insertion and no more spotting.

Sorry to hijack for a second, but you have an applicator??  Never offered to me.  I seriously hate my RE and his office and cannot WAIT to be done with them!

Thanks to all you guys for helping to calm my nerves a little bit.  Once again ...

  • I think mine has just stopped, but I've had a little brown spotting last night and today. I also had some Friday/Saturday, and the first three days I knew I was pregnant. It's all been brown and light, though. My u/s is tomorrow; trying to stay calm until then. My last pregnancy I never had a drop of spotting and I lost the baby, so I'm hoping the reverse is true this time.

  • I'm so glad to know it's probably more common than I thought. I'm still a little afraid to be intimate now though, I don't want to make things worse. I can't believe both my husband and I forgot to ask about that. It may sound silly, but I don't want him to shake anything loose around there...lol. I want to wait a week or so just to be safe.

With my IUI's I had a pill and no applicator.  This time I have endometrium.  It is about the size of an alka seltzer.  The applicator looks like the one that comes with monostat.  It comes with the tabs.  In one way I can't wait to be done with the progesterone and in another way I am terrified to stop taking it.

  • I just had my first bit of spotting as well.  My first appointment isn't until August 2nd.  Should I even bother calling the doctor?  Part of me wants to call, and the other just wants to wait it out and hope for the best.  If something is wrong, they can't do anything about it anyway, I assume. :(

  • I would call. I'm bummed out, I was so excited  because I had no spotting this morning, and I just checked now and do. It's seems to have gone from light brown to light pink and increased slightly. It's mostly when I clean that I can see it, but I can't help but be scared at any moment it will really come down and mean the worse news. =(
