Another thing IF has taken from me

I know that this is a silly thing to be upset over in the large scheme of things, but I am upset.

My OB/GYN is no longer doing the OB part. I love this doctor and she is the best OB in my town. I have been going to her practice for 10 years and have always imagined doing the OB stuff there and having her deliver my baby. I love the nurses and the midwife and the nurse practitioner and the doctor all which seems to be pretty rare these days. Her last OB patient is due in August which makes me even more upset because if my first IVF had worked, I would be due in August and I would still have my doctor. So this is just yet another thing that IF has taken from my life.

Now if I ever actually do get pg I am going to have to find a new OB. I know this is something I may never need to worry about as I may never get pregnant, but it was comforting knowing that if I did I could go where they all know me and my struggles and would be so wonderful to me. IF SUCKS!

Dx: DH - Azoo, Me - Mild PCOS
DH - sperm found! Seems to produce only for a few days every 70 days!
Over 1 million in cryo in 15 vials over 6 samples
IVF #1 - 1 beautiful expanded blast transferred, 4 snowbabies - beta #1 11/30/11 = BFFN
FET #1, transfered 2 embies 2/16/12 = BFFN; 1 snowbaby left in cryo
IVF #2 + CGH = 4 genetically normal embies on ice. FET September 26th
SAIF/PAIF always welcome

    I'm sorry.  Do you want to stay at the same practice?  Or would you be willing to get recs from other woman and go meet with other OB/GYN?

    I'm in the same situation.  When I was pregnant I called to schedule my 1st OB appt only to find out she has stopped delivering.  I was devastated.  So, I found out there was no hb from a new OB I had never met before.  It sucked.  I switched OBs when we started TTC because I wanted this particular OB and now that was for nothing.  Now, I'm not sure what to do about an OB.  My only experience with the new one was the worst experience of my life.  Not sure I can go back to her.

     


    After more than 2 years of fertility treatments, FET did the trick!
    IVF March 2012 - BFP! - Severe OHSS = 8 days in the hospital in kidney failure
    No heartbeat at 10w6d
    FET August 27,2012 = BFP!

    Yes, IF sucks!

    I just love them all so much and I guess at this point I feel silly leaving until I actually need an OB which could be never. It might be good to try to get an appointment with another one earlier so I am not rejected as they are not accepting new patients when and if I do get KU.

    OMG that is horrible. I don't think I would go back there either!!! ((hugs)) It's amazing how IF affects so many peripheral things in our lives as well. *sigh*

    I'm not sure where in Houston you are, but I really liked the place I went when I lived in Houston. If you want the name I would be happy to give it to you.

    DX: Unexplained/??? MFI issues

    Our lil' lost sparks:
    5w3d loss 7/30/10 - EDD March 2011
    8w loss 4/15/11 - EDD November 2011
    8w3d loss 8/2/12 - EDD March 2013
    4w c/p loss 10/29/12 - EDD July 2013

    Long story: trying on our own + testing testing testing with 6 rounds of Clomid, more testing, injectables + TI, laparoscopy - one tube blocked, 2 IUIs with Follistim...BFNs.
    RPL testing all normal, Karyotyping normal

    Moving on to IVF.

    IVF #1 April 2012 = BFN, IVF #2 June 2012 = BFP. U/S 7/23 = saw heartbeat but measuring behind. Follow up U/S on 7/30 - no heartbeat. D&C 8/2. Trisomy 12. IVF #3 Oct 2012 = Chemical Pregnancy

    Phone consult with CCRM on 12/12/12 - ODWU 1/4/13 - both tubes clear(!) - AFC 24, AMH 3.2, FSH 9.6, LH 5.4, E2 25. DH has high frag rate but improved!
    IVF #4 March 2013 CCRM. EP protocol w/ Menopur, Gonal-F & Dexamethasone. ER 3/29 & IMSI, PICSI. 43R 13M 10F 6blasts bio'd. CCS testing reveals 3 normals!!!
    FET 5/31/13 of 1 4AA blast - thawed and expanded. 4dp5dt BFP.
    Beta 9dp5dt = 181, 11dp5dt = 427. 1st u/s showed a healthy heartbeat! EDD 2/16/14

    After 4 years of hoping and heartbreak, our sweet little bean was born on 2/19/14
    We are so in love with her.

    Hi buddy! We should be getting our FET date tomorrow!! 

    I live in a smallish town and there are not a lot of good docs here. I was going to the best. I think I might try to find one in the city our RE is in. I guess I just want to know that I need it before I actually find one. oh well.

    I totally know how you feel. I got sent to an OB when I was 16 because I wasn't getting my cycle and she was a infertility specialist. She diagnosed me with pcos and when I got married she was the one who started my IF treatments..She did all of my IF tests and iui's etc. She also sent me to my RE who finally got me pregnant with my son. I have a long history with her. I have her email and she checks in on me all the time. She stopped delivering a month before I finally got pregnant and I was soooooo sad.. I ended up going through 2 delivering OB's before finally finding the practice I go to now.

    I would defiantly start looking soon. I felt it was hard to find the one i was comfortable with and who I wanted to be there when I delivered. My practice has OB's and midwives who work hand and hand. Im glad I left the first 2 places, I felt I was just another number there. Take your time and look around. You will get pregnant and you will be happy that you're comfortable with who ever you choose.....

    Oh sweetie - I feel your pain. My OB that I absolutely LOVE told me at my first prenatal appt that she was retiring at the end of the year....I am due in Feb! She will have me until she retires & then be handing me over to someone else :( I am SO upset & bummed about this so I know exactly how you feel! (((HUGS)))
