**mon/tue workout check-in** and GTKY

Check in for the last couple of days. Also, a GTKY of sorts. I'm looking for a new running playlist. What are a few of your must have songs to listen to while working out?

  • I don't usually listen to music when I work out, but I in the past I have found Billie Jean to be motivating. 

    Yesterday I ran 5 miles, walked 1

    Today I ran 3 miles

    I am going to try to get some weights in, too. I am so bad about weights! I really don't like doing strength training. I wish there was a way to make it more fun! Suggestions welcome!

  • Mon - 45 min kettlebell workout

    Tues - 3 mile run

    Must have on my playlist - stronger (always seems to come on when I need it most!), then a mix of lady gaga, britney spears (later album, not the teeny popper stuff) and random country.  Obviously, my playlist needs some work, so I'm curious about these responses too!

  • I am heading to the gym in the next hour to complete W2D1 of couch to 5k. I'm sure I'll throw in some additional cardio and some strength stuff.

    As for music, sexy and I know it by LFMAO, uprising by muse, the remake of immigrant song, Paris by grace potter and the nocturnals, and many more!

    Monday- 30 minute elliptical, core strengthing and arm weights

    Tuesday- nothing yet! Hopefully will get a run in with the dog when DH gets home.

    When I work out, I listen to music like Jay Z, and Social Distortion...anything to get me pumped up and stay motivated! 

    ETA I'm glad everything with your dad went well :)

  • Mon- Power Blaster class at the gym.  We had a new instructor....she's only taking over Mondays so it'll be nice to have some variety with different people teaching on different days.

    Tues-Just got back from a 3&3/4 mile run. 

    As far as my playlist goes, I'm sure no one would be interested in adding any of my stuff to theirs....it's all TX country music.  Even my DH thinks it's lame to run to it and he actually likes that kind of music.  LOL

  • Mon~C25K week 1, day 1

    Tues~15 min on elliptical, 30 min cardio/strength circuit

    Music:  Usually, I don't listen to music as I work out.  I'm more of a watch tv person :)  In fact, almost everything on my iPod now is either for school, or for LO.  I only have a handful of songs, maybe four or five, in English.  Case in point: yesterday I was using the C25K app and it was randomly picking music tracks to play for me.  What came on first?  Womb noise from Happiest Baby on the Block.   I skipped over that...then what came on?  Vamos a la Playa (It has a good beat, but I'm sick of it.  My a students were obsessed with it last year.  Here's the official video, it's hilarious, but I would never show it in class!)  Finally, I settled on some David Bisbal and Julieta Venegas for the rest of the workout.  I'll be setting up a C25K playlist before tomorrow morning...

    OMG, so not baby or workout related, by H was obsessed with this song last summer.  I have no idea how he found it, but he would play it all the time and do this goofy dance (H does not dance to anything!).  Cracks me up just thinking about it!

    Good for you on starting C25K!  I will doing W2D1 tonight.  I found this podcast with hip hop music that I like...https://www.kissmyblackass.org/podcasts/ 

    I like listening to hip hop, I imagine that I'm dancing at a nightclub so I have to look good, no wants to look at the fatty on the dance floor!

  • Yoga class today and I rocked a few new poses if I do say so myself! 

    I don't have any specific music...depends on my mood and workout. I usually just throw on the radio. I was reading last months issue of Self magazine today and it was a music issue. It had tons and tons of workout playlist ideas! Check it out!
