a/s protruding forehead

Just had the 20 week a/s and after inspecting the ultrasound photo we noticed the baby's forehead really protrudes. The doctor didn't say anything about it and had we noticed it while still at the office, would have asked the doctor. Anyone have experience with something similar?

If I had a question, of course I would ask my doctor. I don't understand why you didnt.

Babies heads are big.

Actually we didn't look at the photo very closely until we got home. We had a concern about something else that we were discussing with the doctor and we were pretty distracted.

Here's my rule of thumb: if they're worried, then I'm worried. If they didn't say anything to you about it, then it's not something to worry about, imo.

If the doctor did not express concern, chances are it's nothing.

You aren't a doctor, neither are we. You could be looking at what you think is the forehead, but may not be. Who knows.

If you're that concerned about it, call the doctors office and bring it up.

I would say to ask about it, but not worry!! Doctors are used to seeing scans like that all the time, and most likely have said something if there had been cause to worry.

If the dr. didn't say anything, then I wouldn't worry about it. With my DD, I took the ultrasound pics home and over analyzed every little thing. I was so worried that her upper lip stuck out toooooo far. lol. Everything, including her upper lip, was perfect when she was born. Try not to stress

Also I have noticed that some of the photos they take arent at all as clear as what you see on the screen when you are there and if I were to look at the pics alone, I would see things I didnt see during the scans. I think this is b/c the babies move at just that moment so it makes things look odd sometimes.

Depending on the angle, ultrasound pictures can be misleading. If your DR was not worried, you don't need to be

To be honest, I'd assume that it was just a bad picture. We have a profile shot of LO where she looks like she has a huuuuge nose and chin. But it was just cause the tech snapped the shot as she was still moving the u/s wand slightly.

Kinda this. I think my girl will have a big nose... her Dad has kinda a big one, but it looks like she is mostly nose! and her belly... wow! There is where she takes after us both...lol. Honestly though doc said her weight is in the 65%... she is small right now. Which is weird cause I am huge right now...lol

I wouldn't worry about it. They will tell you if something is wrong... it's kinda their job.
