Every year I go to this big walkathon/charity event in NYC. Its called Strut Your Mutt to raise money for Best Friends Animal Society.
Do you think it will be feasible to take the babies this year? I will see if my MIL can go so she can take one of my dogs. Its a 2 mile walk (all paved) and a 1 hour drive there and back. The babies will be about 3 months old at that point.
Will this be a nightmare or will the babies probably sleep the whole time? I guess we would have to stop to feed them at some point. Is it going to be impossible if i didn't have a restroom nearby?
Re: Am I crazy? FTM question
I don't believe that you are crazy. I would definitely ask someone to go with you for an extra set of hands. There are some things I think you should consider first.
For example, what time of day is the walk? Do the babies sleep during this time normally? Take a trial run with everyone on an hour drive or to the park for a certain period on time. The more you go out and about to establish a schedule of what works for all of you.
Planning is the ultimate key.
If they usually do ok in the car for short trips and do well in the stroller I think it would be totally fine. They'll probably love being outside!
I did a 5k walk when my boys were 4 months old. It was fun, and they either slept or enjoyed watching all of the people.
DH did come with me - I would have been a little overwhelmed by myself.
