What does your LO say?

Anything funny that sounds like a word?  I remember someone posting that LO said "onion" really clearly.

Mine says "Howza" all the time.

Re: What does your LO say?

  • We get "hi" "shoe" and "iloveyou" (written that way because it's one word).

  • The only sound DD consistently makes is a screechy type ooh-ing sound. Last week she very clearly said "what" and I got scared. I didn't think it came from her and I thought someone else was in the house for a few seconds. :|

  • Sounds like she says Hi a lot, and "Agoo", whatever that means. lol

  • He says 'uhhhhh ....uhhhhh' Nothing really sounding like words yet.  Today though he did a high pitched 'uhh oh' and I think he surprised himself :)  When I got home from work, he 'talked' for like 15min straight.  I think he was telling me about his day :)

When she cries, she says "Nee" SHe also says mama when she cries....I wish it was really because she knew what it meant. SHe mostly spit talks right now, so it sounds like she's underwater. Yes, we spit talk right back. It's gross and adorable all at the same time.

  • maamaama.  I was so excited when I first heard it, but it's the start of his "I'm hungry" cry.

  • He says HI very clearly - but he also says agoo and many other cute things.  He has also started to sputter and make more consonant sounds - which is exciting :)

I saw this on Oprah but this is supposed to mean they are hungry. My son does it all the time and when I feed him he stops! We've come to know "Nee" as food in this house <: every time I hear it I feed them and they stop "neeing" <:

I saw that too! It was a lady who could tell what the baby wanted by their sounds. I need to watch that again, I know it's on YouTube.

  • He clear as day looked at me and said mama and then smiled the other day. It freaked me out, but in a good way. I almost cried. Haha. I know he had no idea what he was doing but it was adorable! Also, this riminds me of a video tape from my brother's 2nd bday party and it sounded like I said "happy birthday" and I was just 6 months old. It is so funny to watch. It is weird when babies say words but they were just random noises they were making.

I friend bought the dvd and I borrowed it. He really only did the nee sound when he was super hungry and we were stuck in the car so I hadn't fed him at the time I normally would have. It did help some. Like for when he had tummy pain.

  • He says Ma Ma Ma, when he's getting upset. When he gets real upset it sounds like he's saying ow ow ow. But most of the time he just coos, coo coo, he sounds like a dove. He also has a very loud shriek when he's excited.

That's super cool. I never knew that. I usually think that Nee means feed me because it's her super frantic cry. Then, she does the hu-hu-hu like Butthead when she sees the boob but can't get to it quite yet.

  • Willow "says" a few things:

Oy oy oy- When she is really tired. It is really cute

Ut oh- I swear she was saying it over and over while on the floor.

Allen- (my husbands name but it sounds like I-Eeeeee) I call DH Alley

She also shakes her head no.

One of my favorite sayings is, "Every mother thinks her child is a genius and the most beautiful creature....It just so happens that I am right!"
