3rd Trimester

Give me recommendations: What books do I need?

I'm spending my two Borders gift cards online right now and I need at least one more book to use up these babies.

So far I'm getting:

The Happiest Baby on the Block

Secrets of the Baby Whisperer

Heading Home With Your Newborn: From Birth to Reality

What else do you ladies recommend?

Re: Give me recommendations: What books do I need?

  • The Happiest Baby on the Block is Aaaaaamazing.
  • Loading the player...
  • Guess How Much I Love You, On The Night You Were Born, and Goodnight Moon
  • Get some Sandra Boynton books to read *to* your baby.

  • I really like Happiest Baby on the Block...I really don't like Secrets of the Baby Whisperer. Just to warn you, a lot of what the two books say are opposite of one another. You'll have to pick the stuff you like from each. Secrets of the Baby Whisperer was a gift and I have the gift receipt. I'm almost done with it and plan to return it for something else. Yeah, I'm bad like that.

    Sorry that didn't really help.

  • I have heard good things about "What to expect the 1st year." Don't know personally though...
  • If you are breastfeeding, I hear that the Nursing Mother's Companion is really good.

  • It's not educational... but your hubby seems to have a similar sense of humor to mine.. I bought the Book, "Yummy Yucky" the other day.. DH loved it and it will definitely be his favorite book to read to Cami!

It should be like $5 or something! haha

  • I'm a big fan of anything by Dr. Brazelton and Dr. & Martha Sears. Also already love Nursing Mothers Companion. I think board & childrens books are a great idea too, you can never have enough books for kids!
