Just lowered my son's crib to the middle setting and today he sat himself up on his own in there. He's days away from crawling and pulling himself up on things.
What is the next indicator that I should lower it to the lowest setting? Should I just do it now? Would it prevent him from being able to reach until he's had more time to practice?

Re: Lowering crib mattress
DD figured how to stand up in her crib pretty quickly. I never used the middle setting, she was a late roller and once she could sit herself up we just lowered it to the lowest setting.
The NP asked if she had attempted to jump ship from her crib. I guess some babies take to gymnastics early and figure out how to get over the edge if you are not careful.
I would do it now. I don't think it deterred DD from standing in her crib but at least the top rail is at her shoulders and I don't worry about her jumping out (yet).

I so agree, move it to the bottom now...most likely they'll be standing it next week!!!
