Thoughts on Chestnut Hill Hospital

My husband and I are TTC, and I currently go to Chestnut Hill OBGYN, with delivery at Chestnut Hill Hospital.  We live in East Norriton, so it is not too far away from our home.  Does anyone know if this is a good place to deliver?  I am just trying to figure out the best place for us, so when we finally concieve we are all set!  Thanks for your help!

    I had my DS at Chestnut Hill, and I was born there.  I had a wonderful experience, but I believe they don't deliver there anymore.  You should call and ask, but I believe they stopped delivering (closed Maternity Ward) in late October, early November sometime.  I just got my records transferred to Lankaneau hospital in Wynnewood.

    Chestnut Hill closed their Maternity Ward. I just had to find a new doctor and will be delivering at Lankaneau.

    Who did you go w/ at Lankaneau?  I just transferred from one pratice to another practice within Lankaneau..  Just curious.

    Wow!  I didn't realize this, as I haven't been to the OB since this summer!  Thanks for the update...I'll be interested to see which hospital they deliver at!

    Well, I had Dr. Miriam Harden when I went there, but she is now affiliated w/ Mercy Suburban Hospital in Blue Bell, PA.  I also liked Lynda Thomas, who is not practicing OB/Gyn anymore.  She changed her specialty.  I was delivered by a CNM, and I can't find her... I would've loved to have her again.

    I was just at Chestnut Hill's Blue Bell office the other week and they are only GYN now.  No OB.  I'm really sad because I had a great experience with DS at the hospital.  I've heard Bryn Mawr is good and there is also the Bryn Mawr Birthing Center.

    Yes, I just called yesterday, and Chestnut Hill Hospital closed their maternity ward November 4th, and Chuestnut Hill Blue Bell off is only GYN.  They said they will confirm pregnancy, and then refer you to an OB, but not over the phone.  I live in the Norristown area... any suggestions for an OBGYN?
