Before labor, did kicks/movement feel less powerful?

I think LO is finally starting to drop since I'm feeling more pressure on my lower abdomen/cervix area...but in the past day or so I've noticed his kicks and movement is a little less forceful than it has been in the past! I definitely still feel him and I find his heartbeat easily on the doppler, but they feel more like little pokes instead of the large rolling movements I had a few days ago. It seems like his movement is either off the wall crazy with limbs everywhere or barely noticeable at times...

Anybody else notice this and is it normal?

    LO's movements got less forceful once he dropped, but I think it was because he was getting so squished. In the 24 hours before he was born, he was extremely active (probably irritated by contractions).

    Yeah, mine are worse than ever.  They are almost painful.  I hear both are possible though, sometimes a lot of movement before labor and sometimes there is a calm before the storm, so I guess we will see.  I really want this kid out!!!!

    Lots of variation in movement here depending on the day. Too much variation to think it means anything, unfortunately. I'm looking for anything, ANYTHING, that I could take as a sign of impending labor!

    I felt him move more when I was having false labor contractions for 3 days, however once my real contractions started he seemed to move very little. However, it may have been also that it was hard to notice movement when I was concentrating more on the painful contractions.

    This. I was almost in tears last night from his movements. He was all over the place

    Ugh, same here..... And the only time she is in my ribs, is when I'm trying to catch my last couple of hours sleep in the mornings. It hurts so bad. I feels like her feet are in my lungs.
