Why am I so nervous about this? I hardly slept at all.
After our last CP about 2 weeks ago, in between bouts of sobbing and cursing the universe, I became very motivated to advocate for myself with our RE. I've educated myself and done my own research (even though that's HIS job, but whatev...), and I've been informally rehearsing in my mind how I plan on approaching this with him at our options appt.
Now I could throw up. Our appt is at 9 this morning. I don't know if I'm nervous that he will give me a hard time about additional testing (in which case we will be going to another office, however inconvenient), or if I'm nervous about hurting his feelings, or nervous about forgetting something on my list...
I think I'm also partly nervous that it'll go great, and he'll say, "Yep, sounds great, let's do it all!" And he'll run all the tests. And they'll all be normal. And I'll just keep being told, "Better luck next time." And that we won't ever have any better luck.
All of the above I guess. At any rate, I could use some good vibes about now, and perhaps some hugs as well. Funny PIPs are also always appreciated
Thanks ladies! Enjoy your Mondays!
ETA: Update in thread on how it went, if you're interested

Good vibes coming your way!
Some people may view 'doing the doctor's job' of researching as overboard, I view it as responsible! I have told my RE that I read about everything IF and we often have conversations based on what I've read (due to questions asked, we don't have a book club or anything, lol).
There's been a few times where he didn't come up with the plan but after listening to my concerns and reasoning, agreed it could hurt (genetic testing, progesterone after O, endometrial biopsy, testing out my trigger before my 'test date' since I have a history of ectopic and early bleeding).
IMO, a good doctor will listen to ALL your concerns and respond. They will either say it can't hurt, let's go for it or "I don't do that for __XYZ reasons__" For example, my RE only runs the basic auto-immune panel, nothing more. I perused Dr. Bravermann and Dr. Bears (Sears, can't remember now) websites about RPL and their treatments. Their treatments are cutting edge, but my RE does not do any of the stuff they do because there's not enough empirical research to support any of it.
However, he STILL encouraged me to consult with them if I wanted and he would 'carryout their protocol' in his office. Ultimately I chose not to, but he listened and had a conversation about it with me rather just simply saying 'No'.
Sorry for the novel of a response. And I'm not even sure it was all relavent but I like to give examples
Good luck and update us later!
Hope it goes well! ;-)

WOW!! Thank you guys for all your responses. It went mostly well, I guess. We met with the actual doctor today, instead of the NP that I usually see. I asked him about all of the additional tests that were recommended on my other post, and he basically said that most of them were unnecessary because anything they would show would have already turned up in the tests they've done. His thoughts on an endometrial biopsy were that it might turn something up, but that there was no proven treatment for anything that it might show aside from the guessing game they are already sort of playing. (If we would decide to go ahead with a gestational carrier or DEs, it might be worthwhile to do in the future to consider which would be the best option, but not if we are going to continue with IUIs).
We plan on asking all of these same questions to the other RE next week when we have our second opinion appt. (which our current RE was also very supportive of.)
The plan for now is to do another untreated cycle while he reevaluates my FSH, Estradiol, progesterone, etc. (They were normal after a year TTC before treatment, and were also normal after my second loss, but I'm all about testing them again just to make sure.) His recommendation, depending on the results, is to begin FSH injects + IUI in an attempt to eliminate any potential negative effects the Clomid could be having.
I did share with him that I was not happy that when I asked his NP specifically if the Clomid could have anything to do with our losses, and if it was worthwhile to try another med, she flat out told me, "No." He said he would speak with her. I sort of feel like I should get my thousand bucks back for the 2 IUIs we had since that conversation. Grrrr.... I could KICK myself for not pushing to have this meeting with him sooner.
I feel okay about this plan so far. Trying not to freak out about the injectibles and all the additional monitoring that goes with that, and how the hell I'm going to manage that with work. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it, I guess.
THANK YOU again for all your vibes, FX, hugs, and PIPs. You have been so helpful!

good for you for standing up for yourself. I had some negative experiences w/ a f/u appt, but was so traumatized at the point that I couldn't say anything. I called the office a few days later to give my concerns and they were really cool & sympathetic about it & receptive to the feedback I gave
So glad your appt went well and also that you are getting a second opinion. As far as the injections and scheduling, just deal with it when you have to...I'm sure you'll be able to find a way to make it work!
