My daughter is 15 months old and she drinks an average of 10-12 ounces a day.m yesterday she had maybe 8. Our pedi said not to worry about how much, just to make sure she's getting some and also providing other calcium rich foods in her diet. She also drinks about 16-20 ounces of water/juice a day since we play outside so much.
Our pediatrician says up to 24oz per day. Ideally a minimum of 16oz, but that will vary depending on the amount of cheese, yogurt and other milk products he gets in a day. I offer milk until he hits 24oz, then we switch to water for the rest of the day.
My son is 15 months and my pedi said at least 12 oz, but no more than 18 oz.
I didn't realize that this was something else that varied from pedi to pedi! Before that my son was drinking up to 24 oz a day. Now I cut him off at 18 oz. But most days he will only drink 12 to 14 oz

I think this can definitely vary from doctor to doctor. I would think their recommendations will also change depend on how well your child eats, and where they are in growth percentiles. As of his last check up L was exactly 50th percentile for both weight and height, which could have a factor in her recommendations. He also still nurses, so he's probably getting about 10-14oz of breast milk a day too.
We give our DS 3, 8 ounce cups of Milk at meal times. He doesn't drink it all but I would say the majority of it is gone. He loves liquids and can always be found with a cup.
I asked my LOs pedi (well, how much once I wean her, since she is still BFing) and she said 16 to 32 ounces a day I think. So 2 to 4 cups. Right now my LO only drinks a few ounces a day, if that, so I don't know. She doesn't seem to really like it. It kinda seemed like a lot to me, but IDK. I guess a serving of cheese or yogurt would take the place of one of those servings of milk though too. So that makes more sense.
Now that I read the other posts, I am wondering if she said 16 to 24 ounces.... no wonder 32 ounces seemed like a lot to me!
When he had it in a bottle, I gave him 16 oz per day. We went cold turkey off the bottle, and now he drinks probably less than 8. He is good about eating cheese, yogurt, etc, so pedi isn't concerned.

32oz does sound like a lot. There is such thing as too much milk.
