I wish I had kept up with babywearing with #1 more than I did because it makes life SO much easier. We started when he was about 3 weeks old and he LOVED it. Kept up with it until he got squirmy around 4 months, then recently picked it up in the past 2 months. So much easier to get things done around the house when he just wants to snuggle.
To the point, here's a question for all other babywearers out there--what's your favorite for a newborn? I used a sling for #1 which worked but wasn't the most comfortable or practical for nursing. My plan (fingers crossed that it works) is to wear #2 as much as possible so that #1 can still have attention and I can still have free hands. I've been playing with Girasol wraps and ring slings, I'm looking for favorites to nurse in and overall comfort. Any info is greatly appreciated, thank you!
Re: Would LOVE suggestions from babywearers!
My #1 for overall comfort & nursing ease is a mei tai. You can tighten the straps however you need them, & if you have baby in a front carry while you're wearing a nursing top, BF is so easy. BF is easier in a ring sling, but the mei tei is comfortable for longer IMO.
I never really got into wrapping much, but I have just about every other kind of carrier. I still carry DS almost daily, & I've found wrapping is the most comfortable now that I have a big pregnant belly. Once I can wrap over my stomach again, I'm going right back to front carries in a mei tei.
