2nd+ time moms: Pregnancy comparisons?

How is this pregnancy compared to your last one(s)? Do you think it's an indicator of the gender?

I'm asking because this pregnancy is SO different from my last one! Other than sore boobs and a few bouts of m/s, my last pregnancy was pretty easy! This time around, I'm exhausted, I can't eat anything (I lost 4lbs just this past week), I'm up almost all night because I can't sleep. The list can go on and on. I'm almost wondering if this one's a girl because everything's been so different!

What about you?

Re: 2nd+ time moms: Pregnancy comparisons?

  • My first 3 pregnancies (2 ended in m/c) I knew I was PG before getting a BFP b/c I was STARVING,very biitchy, and spotted/bled during 1st tri.  This time I'm not starving, have been pretty level-headed (even my hubby thinks so!), and no spotting/bleeding.  M/S started at exactly 6 weeks with this pregnancy and my last.

My PG w/DD was pretty uneventful (despite being insulin dependant GD early on). And this one, so far, is pretty much the same. I'm super tired (which I was with DD), and that's about it. No ms or sore bb. I know it's still early though! I do feel like I was more aware of stretching & cramping early with DD. I'm not really feeling any of that currently.

  • This time its been pretty much the same as last time minus the spotting. I spotted last time and not this time. I was prepared for it. I kept a journal with DS1, so Ive been comparing and so far its pretty consistent.

Im thinking its another boy......Im okay with either but I have always heard boy pg are easier than girl pg but then again Ive been hearing the opposite lately. SO who knows!

  • So far it's been completely different.  My first I had terrible morning sickness before even getting the BFP but otherwise I wasn't moody or irritable.  This time I've not really had m/s but my raging hormones are getting the best of me and I want to rip everyone's head off.  I'm definitely curious to see if this one's a girl.

  • Pregnancy with my son was a cake walk.  This one is highly unpleasant so far but I know it will get better soon.  Having a rough day today.

  • My first two pregnancies were completely different!  I was exhausted and had terrible food aversions with one, but wasn't very sick.  I wasn't moody, in fact, I cried less during that pregnancy than I usually do.  It was really strange.  With my second, I was very moody, very sick, but didn't have the food aversions and wasn't exhausted.  I also carried differently.  I was SURE he was a girl.  I even bought girl clothes.  I was shocked when we found out he was a boy.  This pregnancy is like a mild version of both of my other ones.  I'm cranky, tired, a little sick, have a few aversions, but none of my symptoms are extreme.

    Married to J since 5/05, Mommy to T (10/08), L (08/10) and C (02/13) who was born at home.

  • I have a lot of the same cravings and aversions as I did with my daughter. Morning sickness is about the same intensity and is worse at night. I definitely cramped more with her, but I think I can attribute the lack of cramping to the fact that I am already pretty stretched out in the ute region. (I was GIGANTIC from polyhydramnios just 5 months ago.). My boobs are not nearly as tender as they were, but they are still big from my last pregnancy so that might have something to do with it.

  • My first two successful pregnancies were very similar.  Few symptoms besides exhaustion.  One boy, on girl.  My next two successful pregnancies were a little different.  A little nausea with #3, a little more with #4.  Another boy, another girl.  This time, I have horrible all day nausea to the point that I can barely get off the couch.  The Sea Bands are helping, but it's not 100%.

  • So far, no m/s, food aversions, or extreme exhaustion.  I know it's still early, but all those symptoms started very early for me during the last pregnancy.  I am keeping my fingers crossed!

  • This one is pretty different so far.  Sore boobs, super bloat, and my nausea is worse.  I'm not as tired and I'm already sleeping terribly, but I'm not working so I think that might play into it.  I'm also 33 (was 30 last time), so I think it's just my body getting older also.

  • 1st pregnancy: mild nausea, major food aversions, super sore boobs, stable mood

This pregnancy: very very moody and tired

Basically I think I'm having more emotional and less physical symptoms with this PG..we will see what these next weeks bring!

  • I feel like I am still in wait-n-see mode.  The worst of it was between weeks 6-10 for the first, really bad with weeks 7 & 8.  I was throwing up twice a day and had horrible acne (and b-acne, eww).  I also caught a throat virus (like strep) during those worst throw up weeks, my boobs hurt like hell, and even my teeth were super sensitive.

I am definately on the m/s ramp up now, but mostly just when I am hungry and not all freaking day long so far.  Seabands and preggie pop drops are old/new BFF. Hoping the the m/s stays at this level and if all the other symptoms stay away I will lean towards this LO being a boy.  We'll see!

  • With DD, my boobs were sore and I was exhausted. That's how I knew I was pregnant before I tested. This time around, my boobs aren't sore. I'm still exhausted, but I don't feel it as much because I've been exhausted for the past 2 years. :)  I am waiting for 6 weeks to hit because I got morning sickness on the day I turned 6 weeks with DD. We'll see if it happens with this one.
  • At first it started out exactly the same, first sign = swollen, full boobs.  Now it's completely different.  I'm terrible bloated, unbelievably exhausted and have really bad m/s (but today so far so good!).  I also have no aversions to food and no cravings, but I did last time.  It's really weird how different it is.  I think it's a boy, based off I O'd a good time before we conceived.

This pregnancy has been completely different than my first. With DD my nips were so sore, I actually had a swollen/protruding gland which I went to the doctor about because I thought I had a cyst, only to find out I was actually pregnant! This time, no sore boobs at all. M/s was mild with DD, had slight nausea around week 9. This time around I don't think I'm going to be able to avoid it. I have been nauseous on and off the last few days. This morning it was really bad. I am still trying to figure out how to deal because I HATE throwing up, it's one of my biggest fears in life (I know, pathetic, isn't it!) I have also definitely been very moody. Don't piss this pregnant lady off!

  • It's still pretty early, but so far it's been reasonably uneventful.  Both times, I've been starving the week before I took my pregnancy test (I didn't test until I had a missed period either time), I've had some light spotting both times, and very tired both times.

Last time, I think nausea had already set in and my boobs were very sore. I'm feeling pretty good this time.  If it wasn't for the exhaustion, I wouldn't even know I was pregnant.

  • Hello!

When I was pregnant with my son, I had ALL DAY m/s and was exhausted. With this pregnancy (so far), I've had no m/s and am just a little bit tired. I am wondering, and hoping, that maybe that means I am having a girl!

  • Last time I was nauseous until about 13 weeks, hungry all the time, exhausted, running to the bathroom constantly and my boobs were so sore.  This time I haven't really felt anything yet (of course I'm only 5w5d) but it makes me wonder if I really am pregnant.

  • I feel like sh*t.  So far this is the worst 1st tri of all my pregnancies and I'm not even 8 weeks in.  :(

With DS, I was nauseous and sick from 8 weeks - 13 weeks.  DD was 5 weeks - 18 weeks.  I am a little worried about the next few weeks.

Based on how I feel, I would say girl.  But, thinking about when I O'd, it will be a boy.

  • My first pregnancy was pretty easy. I had slight nausea, very sore boobs, and some food aversions but no throwing up or anything. This time around I just feel tired, but with a toddler I'm always tired.
