Varicocele surgery update

DH had his surgery on Friday, so I spent the weekend playing nurse.

The surgery went well enough and he only has some minor bruising. When they put the radiological fluid in to see if there was a blockage there was some lag, but it was much less severe than they expected, so they gave him the option of doing it or not. 

Obviously they were already in there, so he said to just do it, which I'm glad about. We don't expect any earth shattering changes, but we've at least done one more thing that's in our power. 

Sadly, today was our due date from our October ICSI #2 cycle. 9 whole months and we're no better off than where we began.

    Hitting the EDD of a loss is a hard milestone.  (((hugs)))

    I'm sure the date was bittersweet, but I'm glad the surgery went well and you and your DH have taken another step forward. I hope it leads to positive changes.

    Dx: DOR and MFI

    DH: low count + very low motility; hormones all normal; Sperm DNA Frag. test = poor to fair; male karyotyping normal
    Me: FSH 13.4 + AMH 0.26 + hypothyroidism; Scratch the hypothyrodism (?); Blood clotting and immune panel all negative; endometrial biopsy normal

    IVF #1 (MDLF - Jul/Aug 2011): BFN (9R, 5M, 3F with ICSI, 3dt of 1 10-cell grade 2, no frosties)
    IVF #2 (EP-antagonist - Sep/Oct 2011): BFN (6R, 4M, 3F w/ ICSI, 3dt of 1 6-cell, 1 7-cell, grade 4s, no frosties)
    DE IVF #1 (shared cycle - June 2012): c/p (6R, 6F w/ICSI, 3dt 1 8-cell grade A- and 1 7-cell grade A-; no frosties)
    DE IVF #2 (shared cycle with new donor - Nov/Dec/ 2012): - BFP!!!!! 12/14/12. U/S on 12/27 shows twins!!!!!

    ((HUGS)) to you on your due date milestone. It is such a rough day to get through, but glad you have some positive news from the surgery to brighten your spirits!
    2/11 Diagnosis: DOR-AMH .62, LPD and MFI-4% Morph
    IVF #1-July 2011 7/9/11-Started Stims
    7/20/11-ER:No eggs in 4/5 follicles. Left the 5th follie intact and converted to an IUI
    8/3/11-Beta #1=BFN,
    Nov, 2011 BFP #1=m/c at 7 wks 3 days
    11/11-AMH .47, IVF #2 March 2012...or not!! Surprise BFP on 2/19. Beta #1=161. Beta #2 305 Our little miracle girl is on her way! Due Oct 29, 2012

    Glad the surgery went well.

    I hear you on the EDD from IVF#2. I was also in October and it's hard seeing the other ladies you cycled with already have their babies and we have nothing. I was in the middle of my first IVF 1yr ago and I never would have believed a year ago how badly the next year would be. I wonder what next summer will bring...

    I am sorry sweetie - Big hugs for you (EDD's sting). I am glad that DH is doing well and remember - you are moving forward (even though it seems like itty bitty steps sometimes.

    DH on Clomid / Arimidex to address hormonal issues - Sperm found July 2011!
    IVF #1 September 2011 - ER 9/8/2011- 8R, 5M - icsi - 1 made it to transfer - BFFN :-(
    IVF #2 Lucky November 2011 - ER 11/25/2011 - 15 eggs!, 13 mature, 10 fertilized with isci - 7 made it to transfer! Transferred 1 - 8 cell and 2 - 7 cell. BFP!!!!
    1st U/S - Twins! 2nd U/S - 3 heartbeats!!! - HOLY COW!!!
    Prayers for our take home babies!
    2 babies born on 3/27/12 and lost. Last baby born on 3/29/12 and lost at 20 weeks.

    ((hugs)) it sounds like YH is a trooper! the relationship between men and their balls is fascinating! I'm glad even given a way out that he went for it! I really hope this helps!!

    DH - sperm found! Seems to produce only for a few days every 70 days!
    Over 1 million in cryo in 15 vials over 6 samples
    IVF #1 - 1 beautiful expanded blast transferred, 4 snowbabies - beta #1 11/30/11 = BFFN
    FET #1, transfered 2 embies 2/16/12 = BFFN; 1 snowbaby left in cryo
    IVF #2 + CGH = 4 genetically normal embies on ice. FET September 26th

    Glad it went well.  For what it is worth, my DH had his surgery 3 months ago this week.  So it is time for a new analysis to see if things have improved.  Truly, the 3 months just flew by.  I hope the time goes just as quickly for you guys.

    Glad the surgery went well.  

    Sorry to hear about the passing due date.  :( Our EDD is this Wednesday, July 25.  I'm dreading it.  Makes me feel sick that it's been so long and, like you, here we sit with no progress to report.  Big hugs, sweets.  One of these days, it just has to be your turn.  I firmly believe that's true.
