I posted last week asking for Sesame Place tips. We went this weekend, and had a great time!
DD will be two on Saturday (wow!), and we were worried that there wouldn't be many things she could do. There was plenty for her though, including lots of great water stuff!
We opted to pay extra for the magic queue pass to skip the lines, and it was well worth it! We got into the Elmo's World Live show before anyone else, and were able to get front row seats. It was really nice not to have to stand in line on warm days, especially with a squirmy 2 year old.
We also stayed overnight so that we could rest and enjoy the park over two days. I am so glad we did that.
You can leave the park and come back in, so we walked right next door to Uno's for lunch, verses spending a ton for the food inside. We also packed a picnic lunch one day, and eat that outside of the park too.
We did do a character dinner with Elmo and friends, which was so worth the money. DD loved meeting the characters up close and she got a cup to take home too. The food was good, and you could go back for seconds if you wanted.
It was a great time!
Re: Back from Sesame Place
Thanks so much for posting this experience. We have been hesitant to plan a trip (even though its only 1 hr away) b/c we are worried how both kids will last. DS is turning 4 in October so we're hoping to go in the fall. Good tip on the magic queue pass.
OMG, how have i never heard of this???? DD would LOVE this! We just did her 2 year birthday all sesame street themed and she freaks when sesame street comes on tv. Thanks for sharing!! Can you tell me where you stayed overnight? How was it? How close was it to the park? Decent prices?
Thanks again for sharing!
Happy belated birthday to your LO! Sesame Place is located about 30 minutes north of Philadelphia, so it was an easy drive for us from Baltimore (under two hours).
We stayed at the Residence Inn in Langhorne, which was less than five minutes from the park. There was a free daily shuttle (ran throughout the day), so we didn't have to pay to park, which was awesome!
We stayed one night, and did the park Saturday (after leaving our car at the hotel, even though the room wasn't ready yet). We went back yesterday and stayed until about 4pm before heading home.
We were able to leave the park and come back, which is great to save money on food (we did a picnic lunch the day we got there and ate next door at Pizzeria Uno's yesterday), going back for naps if need be (although, DD was enjoying it so much, that we just skipped her nap both days and she did great!).
The character dinner was awesome! It isn't cheap, but it was worth it IMO. It was $27 per person for DH and I, and DD was free since she's under two (we just made it, as she turns 2 this week!).
Admission to the park was average for amusement parks, I would say. DH and I were $57 each, but that is for two days (and the days don't even have to be consecutive days, although that's what we did). Again, DD was free since she's under two.
Some of the rides at the park were too old for DD, but we found plenty that she could get on, and there are a few places that are specifically geared to smaller babies and toddlers. She had a blast, and so did we!
Thanks so much for the info! So helpful! We also need a seperate room for DD to sleep in, but it is because she is so social butterfly, that when she hears any noise, she pops up and thinks it's party time. So, we have not been able to sleep in the same room as her since she was about a year old!
Thanks again! So excited to plan a trip!
