Chicken Pox

Has anyone's LO had it?

Yesterday I noticed some red bumps on DS' legs, but I thought it was just heat rash because its been so hot here. Then today, my cousin told me that her LO has chicken pox. We saw them a couple weeks ago. I've found a few more spots here and there, but they are mostly still on his legs. He has no fever, but hasn't been sleeping too well.

I know it varies with every baby, but how long until your LO got over it? Is there any reason to bring him to the pedi? Anything I should keep an eye out for?

    oh no!! i hope it's not chicken pox if you saw them a few weeks ago that seems like a long time for it to be showing up now.  where are the other bumps besides his legs? i ask because Hand Foot Mouth is always going around in the summer and it could be that.  good luck, i hope it turns out to be nothing!

    The bumps on the legs sound whole lot like what DS had this past week (I believe it was HFM).  They were just small red dots (like a rash) all over his leg, never raised up or blisters. 

    The only thing had makes me believe HFM was that he has the same rash (but worse) around his mouth and on his palms of his hands.

    He broke out Wednesday and the only bumps left are just around his mouth, and even those are clearing up.

    Hope he feels better soon!

    If your baby has been exposed to chicken pox and now has signs of red bumps I would bring them to the pedi (or at least call and ask if you should bring them in).
