Thought I would ask here instead of the Vbac / C/S board. My question is has anyone had a scheduled C/S but ended up have a natural birth because you where so far progressed in labor ???? I am having my RCS on Aug 7th but my doctor said if I come in and I'm so far progressed she will let me go natural .... Just wondering how far I would have to be progressed for them to decide to just let it happen??? TIA
Re: Natural birth with a scheduled C/S
I don't have an answer, though I've read of women laboring in hospital parking lots until it's time to push giving the hospital no choice but to deliver vaginally.
Why is your doctor so against a VBAC?
She's not against VBAC. What happened was with DS1 my old OB was not very detailed in my OP report.. At first it was a go for a VBAC but the more she tried figuring out what my old OB meant she said she would feel it would be safer to just do a RCS.... I had the low transverse cut but my old OB had to make an extension cut along side my uterus she didn't say how long it went... So for that reason my new OB feels it would be safer to go with the RCS....
Oh that's tricky if your old OB didn't keep good records. I can understand your OB's reluctance a bit better.
Still, I have heard of women going into labor before a RCS and being allowed a trial of labor instead of going straight to RCS. It all depends on a lot of factors.
Sometimes, I'm hilarious.
Not what you are asking, but have you obtained your hospital records in addition to the OB's records? Nurses keep their own records and sometimes they contain addition information. So many questions about my birth were answered (and others were raised) when I got the hospital records.

You may have to ask the actual hospital since the nurse doesn't work for the OB's office.
