If you failed the 1 hour test, did you feel "funny" or different during or after the test? Did you have any indication that you failed?
I took mine this morning and won't get the results until Monday. I know a lot of people say they feel funky or sick after the test, but I'm not sure if those are people who go on to pass or fail. I felt completely normal during and after the test. I did notice the baby was a little more active toward the end of the hour, but that's the only difference I noted. It sucks to wait over the weekend, so I'm just looking for some insight. I have a pretty strong family history of DM, so I won't be surprised if I have to at least take the 3 hour, nor will I be shocked if I do have GD - I just hate the waiting, lol.
Re: Question if you failed the 1 hour glucose tolerance test...
Thanks - I'll venture over to third tri and take a look for that post.
I kind of figured there wouldn't be a clear cut answer, but thought I'd ask just in case. We have a busy weekend ahead of us, so hopefully Monday comes quickly!
I failed the 1 hr and felt fine. I took the 3 hr and felt off but once I ate and drank I felt better but not 100% until the next day. I had to take the 3 hr again one month later (OB's protocol for my BMI) and I felt fine during it, and horrible afterwards. I ate 3 lunches, drank a ton of water, took at 3 hr nap and took Tylenol for a headache. I really only felt better the next morning.
When I was pg with DD. I failed 1 hr felt fine. Passed 3 hr and felt fine.
I dont think there is a coloration. I am like you, I would be searching for one!

With DS, I felt perfectly fine/normal, and I passed.
This pregnancy, I felt sick/shaky starting about 45 minutes after I drank the glucola, and I passed.
I don't think there's a correlation between feeling sick and passing/failing the test.
DS born 9/25/12
DS #2 due 6/13/16
with DS i felt fine after the 1 hour and failed. I felt awful after the 3 hour and passed.
This time I also felt fine after the 1 hr and failed...3 hour is next week
I can't believe they make you wait all weekend! My doctor (ok, doctor's assistant) called a few hours later to let me know the results. I'd go crazy if not...
I felt nauseated after drinking the 1hr test, but just because of the sugar overload. It depends on how much sugar you normally ingest I think. The first 1/3 or so of the drink I was fine, because that's my normal intake. It was the rest of it that made me feel like I was back in morning-sickness days.
I don't think how you feel after has anything to do with passing or failing. Unless you go into a diabetic coma, that'd probably be a good sign that you failed. But I'm sure you're fine.

Thanks for all the input. I found out this afternoon that I failed the 1 hour. I completely forgot to ask what my number was, so I have no idea if I was just over the cut off or if I was way above - doesn't matter though, I have to call tomorrow to schedule my 3 hour.
