How much detergent?

So I have the rocking green classic to wash our diapers in and I am getting started with the preping process. For prepping I am using only 1 tablespoon of it because I plan on washing at least twice but how much detergent should I use once baby and poop are involved? I know that using too much or too little can lead to their own problems so I want to avoid those. FWIW I have tested our water with the rocking green strips and it came out as exactly between hard and soft water.
