My daughter is not yet speaking but I was just curious as to how everyone's children address adults?
We, of course, call family by their appropriate titles (eg. Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie, Uncle). And our closest friends are also referred to as Auntie or Uncle (only 6 people). But what about everyone else?
Do you do Mr./Mrs. Lastname? Mr./Ms. Firstname? Using first names just sounds too casual to me in most cases, although both mine and DH cousins are just referred to by their first names.
Thank you for your responses:)

This.
Mr/Mrs LastName, until they're invited to call them by their first name. If we're close friends, it's just first name, and any family that doesn't have a "title" is just first name (like cousins, etc).
Although right now, most grown-ups are "SoandSo's Mommy/Daddy"

I tend to ask what the other person prefers. Having said that, our children call their grandparents, aunts and uncles by their 'proper titles'. As for our friends, some are 'aunt&uncle' while others are just called by their first name. It all depends on what they felt most comfortable with.
We used Mr./Ms. First Name and it served us well until my oldest was about Kindergarten age. Now we have the kids calling neighbors, their friends' parents, etc by mr/mrs last name...seems to convey respect for adults better...and they're ready to understand that. Friends of ours that they've known since they were babies still go by mr/ms first name.

My LO isn't speaking yet but this is how we introduce him to people and how I expect him address adults.
