Dh got called for Jury duty. (Which is two weeks long, WHAT?!) Of course it starts the day of my A/S. GRRRR.
Dear city, I hate you. A lot.
Oh, and DH is in group 'A'. The likliehood of him having to go in on day 1 is super duper high. Great. Thanks.
Fate: you suck.
Re: WAIT, WHAT?! I hate jury duty.
Any chance you could bring a DVD and ask them to record it for you? (I know, not the same.) Is there anyone else you can take with you?
I'm sorry. My DH had jury duty for the entire month of September last year. It was miserable. He was actually on a federal jury and would go into the city every day at 6am and not get home til 8pm. It was miserable.

I would probably call the office and see (AKA beg) if they can do it the day or so before. They might be able to accommodate you because of the jury duty.
He'll be out of there in a second if he is an admitted racist, sexist, and/or super religious. Lol, just saying he may want to work on his acting skills.
If I learned but one thing in law school, it was this. Not bad advice.

City rather than county? Does that mean he got called to participate in a grand jury? Or is it a 2 weeks of being "on call"?
Just did an online search, "jury duty medical appointment", the following came up for somewhere in Idaho, but I'd guess it's a similar circumstance; he could ask for his on-call status to start the next day. Bear in mind, you'll have to look for info for your particular county, or on the back of the letter I think they have the little form he would send back with the explanation. .... doubt they gave him more than 30 days notice though
WHAT IF I NEED A DAY OFF?
Arrangements can be made to be excused from jury duty for short periods of time. If you have a medical appointment, a special family event, including a pre-planned vacation , wedding, or a pressing employment situation that will cause you to be out of the area. You must contact the jury commissioner in writing a least 30 days in advance. You may do this by regular mail to [the particular county's address and email removed] You must include your name, juror number, day time phone number, the reason, and the dates requested. You may also include your email address for a confirmation response.
When I served jury duty I was waiting in limbo until about 2:00 when they called us down to select a jury. I didn't get selected, but had I been relying on getting out of it, might have missed an appointment anyway.

I agree! Beg, cry, do whatever you can for both of you to make it!
Defnitely call the jury commissioner's office and see about rescheduling. I work at a courthouse and I know others have done that here. Like PP said, it's not that he is trying to get out of it, but that is just not the right time.
Good Luck!
This for sure!!!!
Also, Backseat driver - is your siggy the moves to Thriller???! Love that...
Thanks ladies! I can not reschedule my scan. I'm going in at 19 weeks, and they only do ultrasounds on Mondays and Thursdays. The one earlier would be this week, at 18 weeks, which they won't do.
So, DH is going to beg and beg. If that doesn't work, we're SOL until I'm 22 weeks. Grr.
