Pregnant after 35

Anyone have a doctor that took them off of work earlier than anticipated?

If so, how far along are/were you and what was the reason?

  • I hope to get put on modified work like another pregnant nurse I know is going on. It was a relief to hear that she was able to do that. She's 32 weeks.

  • Usually if a doc does that there's a health issue.

My doc with my last pregnancy put me out of work at 38 weeks at my request. I was scheduled for induction (at 39 weeks) due to GD and elevated blood pressure, and my boss (at that time) was making my life a living hell because she couldn't grasp my job. I decided it wasn't worth the 40 mile commute any more. Lucky me, at the end of my maternity leave I was called in for a ton of interviews and landed my current job. I LOVE it here.. so much so that I think the environment is contributing to the lack of GD and blood pressure issues I had last time.

  • I was pulled at 35w because my blood pressure was steadily climbing and my type of work is high stress.
  • I was put on modified bed rest due to a shortened cervix at 28 weeks. LO was born at 34 weeks 1 day.

  • We were having a re-organization at work and I was so stressed that I couldn't sleep for more than 2 or 3 hours, and was super emotional. The hormones didn't help...

But my doc said that it was a terrible way to be at the end of my pregnancy and wrote me a note that day.
