March 2013 Moms

So far so good!

We had our first u/s this afternoon and everything went well. We even got to hear the heartbeat at 120bpm and brought home a sonogram! :-) Monday we leave for Walt Disney World in Florida. We're driving Indifferent  I hope it goes well. I've had a couple instances were someone else driving triggered B A D m/s. IN fact the first time I lost my cookies in a parking lot. Almost did again today. (and I thought I was feeling pretty good this morning ha ha ha).  Wish us luck on this trip!! :-)

Hope everyone's doing well!

  • Congrats on a great u/s!

My car sickness started yesterday.  With my first the m/s abated around 12 weeks, but I couldn't just ride in the car for the entire 9 months.  I was ok if I was driving, though. In the 3rd tri I could do short distances as a passenger, but nothing over 30 mins.  Good luck to you!   Hope you don't end up having to drive the entire trip just to keep the m/s at bay!

  • Congrats! Enjoy DW! Do you what rides are okay or if they can actually do anything to the baby? I was wondering myself. My husband and I are flying in Sept and going to Disneyland.. I haven't heard good things about rollercoasters but most of those rides are like 5mph haha
  • Exciting!  Get some Sea Bands for the ride.  They are awesome!  I just picked some up a few hours ago and I feel alive for the first time in days.  I get mega carsick too-so I drive pretty much exclusively.  Dh says he doesn't mind.

  • My fam is going to WDW in November. If you search online, you can find lists of rides that you should not ride. I typed in "pregnancy" on the DL website, and this search result came up: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/search-results/?searchString=pregnancy  I'm guessing if you go through and read the "fine print" of each ride, it will say that expectant mothers should not ride. I've heard they can't force you off of a ride, so it's up to you and your doc/midwife.

Not sure about DL, but there are lots of things you can still do at WDW and a mom's panel (https://disneyworldforum.disney.go.com/) on the disney website that has been very helpful to me. Half the fun is just being there, and I'm sure I will be bummed to miss out on some of my favorites, like the Mountains (Space and Splash), but it will be fun to shop for LO and enjoy the magic of Disney. :) Happy planning!

  • Thanks for the sea bands idea! Looks like they're available at my local Walgreens so I'll be headed there today!!!!!!  Do you wear it all the time or only when feeling sick?
