Pregnant after 35

Headache Remedies?

Hey Ladies,

So I have gotten over the majority of my symptoms except extreme fatigue.  The past week or so I have had killer headaches.  I know it's hormonal but damn!  I know it's safe to take Tylenol but I feel weird about taking it daily or several times a day.

Any other remedies you can recommend?

Thanks!

~Kat

Re: Headache Remedies?

  • For me I think some of my headaches are due to not having enough fluid intake. Before becoming pregnant I rarely drank water and it was not uncommon for me to eat a meal and barely have any liquids with it. I've noticed that sometimes when I notice a headache coming on it's on days that i've been lax on my pregnancy H2O regimen. So drinking more water sometimes helps for me. I depends on the type of headache. It in no way helps for migraines which completely stink!

  • Sorry about your headaches. I get them too, but actually much less frequency since I've been pregnant. My MIL swears by Tiger Balm. You rub some on your temples. Because I agree with you, I had a headache for 8 days straight and did not feel comfortable popping Tylenol every few hours! Here's a link to a small Tiger Balm, so you don't have to invest as much in case it doesn't work for you! https://www.amazon.com/TIGER-Tiger-Balm-Strength-Travel/dp/B0014AY83U/ref=pd_rhf_cr_shvl4

  • I suffer from headaches in life anyway & the pregnant ones were getting awful! My doc told me to take vitamin B-6 daily along with my prenatal. It has helped tremendously!!!

    Hope this helps!

  • Drinking plenty of water, some caffiene can help and if worse comes to worse Tylenol is ok to take!  Hope you feel better soon!

  • I also notice headaches when I don't get enough water, and I've also been going to an osteopath doctor for a neck adjustment and acupuncture once a week, which has helped a lot.  GL!
