Pilates/Ab Workout

Can Pilates and working out the abs cause miscarriage? I have read that it is safe, but I am not sure if that is correct?

    It is totally safe at first unless you have health issues during your pregnancy or a high risk pregnancy in which your doctor has instructed you to not do any workouts. They say it's safe to continue your ab workout until around 13 weeks. After the first trimester you're not supposed to be on your back for long periods of time due restricted blood flow to the baby. plus I think there's something about the crunching not being good for the baby or something like that. With my 3rd baby I already had good abs and continued to work on them until 13 weeks. I had a very small tummy through out my whole pregnancy and my doc said that was partly due to my tight abs. So crunch away!
