We have our "magic number two" now and that always meant that my DH and I were done...until I saw my little girl. Now I'm not so sure. LOL
The original plan was a vasectomy for him...but now...I plan to ask my OB at the 6 week appt: "What is the most permanent form of birth control that my insurance will help cover?" and go from there. Seems a pretty straightforward question...right? I do want the *ability* to change our minds and have another...but not for a very long time. The five-year age gap is a good amount of time to me. And we're still young, so why not? What about you ladies?

Re: Let's talk birth control!!
We are 2 and done...partly by choice, mostly because I am too high risk and I can't imagine going for round 3. Not to mention I'm terrified of having more miscarriages again and would like to avoid that.
DH and I are young still (26 and 28) but we are still planning on him getting a vasectomy done when this little one approaches 1 year old. I want him to wait a little bit after she's born for the postpartum hormones to chill and we can talk it out and decide that it's 100% what we want to do.
Until then it'll have to be condoms, I can't take oral hormonal BC because of a clotting disorder and I've heard of too many oops babies with a few of the different IUDs.
So condoms it is and praying we don't get pregnant again.
Baby BOY is due May 23, 2014!
I can't vote because I haven't completely decided! I was thinking an IUD, but since we might want to try in as soon as a year, I don't think I want to do that anymore.
Possibly the mini pill - but BFing is more important to me than BC so I hope that it would work with my body.
Condoms are also an option, though if we went that route, sometimes it would likely turn into "if it happens, it happens" - I hate condoms! Like I said, we want #2 fairly close in age, so getting KO again wouldn't be the worst thing...
I'm getting an iud. I had one for two years (Paragard) before this sucker invaded my womb. I'll give myself a few weeks to recover before a plastic baby goes back up in there. They're much cheaper than real babies.
