Besides a BFP, I'd like my complextion to go back to normal! Ever since going off BCP my face has been a mess. It's seriously worse than when I was a teenager. I'm having breakouts about every two weeks. Proactiv used to work, now I can't seem to find anything that does. Boo!
Re: Dear Santa, please fix my skin!
Dear Santa,
While you're at it can you stop by and fix mine too?
Me too! I am tired of people close to me, looking with that worried look on their face, "What is going on with your skin?" "What are you eating that's doing that to you"? "Are you washing your face every day?"
BOOOO. Santa if I get aBFP I'll take it, but if not, fix my skin! :-)
amen, sistah.
I was tutoring some 5th graders today and felt jealous of some of their skin! and it ain't pretty!
I feel you, girls! I honestly have never felt self-conscious about my skin, but I do now. I am breaking out in places that were never problem areas before...my chin, jawline, neck. YUCK.
I don't know what else to try. Anyone found any magic potions?
Ahhhh I work in dermatology so if I get an ugly pimple I just inject it with a tiny amount of steroid and voila its goes away. benzyol peroxides work great along with topical antibiotics which are safe while ttc and if PG. There are so many other things that work wonderfully but they are not safe if PG so ya cant use those.
Also, misconception. Foods do not cause acne and not washing your face multiple times a day does not cause acne. Acne is caused by Hormones, excess production of oil (the more you wash it away the more your skin secretes) also, sticky skin cells that clog the pores and a bacteria called P.Acnes (aka Propionibacterium acnes) So the best way to get rid of this overgrowth is a topical or oral antibiotic and exfoliating GENTLY not with an exfoliating cloth or scrub but with a glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide or a retinoid.
Mandee, can you recommend a benzoyl peroxide brand of cleanser & blemish cream? I've always used products with salicylic acid, and after cutting them out, my face is a mess too.
Santa, Please add me to your list - I want nice skin again too (and a BFP if it's not too much to ask!)
I think that's my problem too. I've always used salicylic acid cleansers and now that I'm not...boom...hello acne! Does anyone know of anything over the counter that is safe and works well? I've been trying the Body Shop's tea tree oil, but it's not making a difference.
