I've been preparing dd to transition from being swaddled in RNp to sleeping in crib by having her nap in magic sleep suit in her crib for about 2 weeks. I'd like to get her into her crib for nighttime sleep tomorrow night and was wondering if you take LO out if suit for nighttime feedings? She usually gets up 1-2 times to nurse. Im thinking she'll have to come out bcs it's kinda bulky. Hoping the transition goes smoothly, she is starting to turn over with one arm swaddled in RNp and we are way too nervous to continue to use it at night.

Re: If you've had success with magic sleep suit, come in:)
Its a thick suit BUT Mila has not been sweaty at all in it. We have her in a long sleeve onesie as well. Now, our house is kept on 66, but the nursery is warmer bc of being on our top floor.
Their arms are mobile BUT they have to work to get them to their face. It muffles their startle reflex, so while arms and legs can move, they aren't going to scratch their faces.
No, honestly. If you bottle feed, you could put her in the suit and feed her. Mila falls asleep that way and then can go to the crib asleep.
Even last night when M had a meltdown and I breastfed her after the bottle (DH gives a bottle at night while I pump normally) without the suit on, DH had no problem putting her in the suit and transferring her to the crib. She woke up when he was zipping her, smiled, and went back to sleep. He carried her to the crib and she slept straight through for 7.5 hours.
You could definitely rock/hold baby in the suit.
I think you could DEF nurse in it the normal way. I should have mentioned that I broke my tailbone in labor, so I nurse as often as I can side lying. I'm sure it would be easier to nurse the normal way, but just not very comfortable for me for that reason.
I usually feed by son and if he's still wide awake, I will rock him a little bit or pat his put until his eyes are super heavy. I will then put him in his sleep suit (he's still awake, but really tired) and zip it up. I turn on the musical mobile then I leave. He is usually asleep before I get out of the room. Something about the suit calms him down. If i'd lay him in there awake without the suit, he'd hit himself in the face and cry. I do not hold him in the suit ever. If he wakes up in the middle of the night, he comes out of the suit, I feed him and he goes right back in. It never leaves his crib. I know some people use it for naps but I just use it for bedtime so he knows that when the suit goes on, he is out for the night (well until he wakes up to eat lol)
I almost didn't buy the suit bc it looks super hot and my son is the sweatiest kid i've ever met. My house is set between 72-74 and he never wears clothes bc he gets so warm, but the sleep suit doesn't make him sweat, surprisingly. I put him in the suit with only a diaper and if I think it's warm in his nursery I will turn on the ceiling fan and only zip it up half way so he can get air in.
Also, my DH doesn't think my son will fall asleep awake on his own, so he will put him in the suit when he has about an ounce left in his bottle. He will zip him up and then feed him the remainder of the bottle and he's always passed out by the end!
