Infantino Infinity?

I don't usually frequent the AP board, but I have a question about carriers.  We have the Infantino Infinity 5-in-1 carrier.  I was excited when we got it because it does facing in for infants and facing out and backpack for older babies.  I've tried putting DD in it twice.  She is fine when she's laying on the ground, but when I pick up up and put her on, she starts screaming.  I really want to be able to use it now because I have a lot of laundry/dishes to do in our townhouse, and it's hard to hold her head up going up and down the steps with one hand.  Suggestions?

Re: Infantino Infinity?

  • First, try it when she's freshly fed and changed and a bit sleepy.

Get her in and immediately go for a walk. Outside if possible. Give her 5 minutes to calm down.

If she's not happy within 5 minutes, try again another time or another day.

  • This carrier, like the Bjorn, puts your baby's hips into an awkward position. It's what's referred to as a crotch dangler.  I'd look for something that offers knee to knee support and doesn't leave the baby just hanging.  Forward facing isn't good for you or baby, so I wouldn't even look for one that offers that.
