What are some of your eating habits that you hope to/will change as your LO starts eating more?
I know I eat too much ice cream and candy. I have a major sweet tooth, but I think I eat fairly healthy otherwise. We usually cook our own meals, don't eat out much and never make prepackaged meals. DH on the other hand will need to make some changes to lead by example. He drinks multiple cans of soda a day, eats chips for lunch all the time, and has to have Little Debbies for lunch as well. I really don't want DD seeing all that junk in dads lunch, and thinking it should be in hers as well. We never had any of that around when I was a kid and I hope to do the same for DD, as long as DH is willing to go without his junk!
Re: The UO got me thinking...
Your DH sounds just like mine!
I have thought about this as well. We are pretty good at not eating fast food. We also don't buy a lot of frozen food. My weakness is candy, cookies, chocolate, etc.
I've been looking into participating in a crop share that provides organic fruits/veggies for very cheap.
Well, we recently cleaned up our diet pretty significantly. We're avoiding processed, pre-packaged foods. We had gotten into a major rut of lots of casseroles and crock pot meals involving seasoning packets and condensed soups because it's quick and easy. Those days are gone.
There are a few foods I eat in hiding. Like chocolate.

I eat way too much fast food. I like to tell myself it's okay bc I only eat a couple bits but I need to cut back.
I don't think I'm super worried about it continuing bc I just eat it because it's quick an easy and only me. When I have kids to buy for, it's going to be lunches at home and I will be eating with them.
I don't know if it was D1 or just a timing, but in the past 3 years we've really gone to eating mostly local foods. We buy into a CSA every summer and buy most of our produce and meats from a farmers market. We're not perfect by any means but we try.
Having a child did open my eyes to eating different veggies. I actually love cauliflower these days and brussel sprouts. Who knew? And my mom never cooked green leafy veggies, so I thought they were gross. They're not too bad either.
We let D1 have chips every so often and, God forbid, McDonalds too. But they're treats, maybe once a month although usually not all that frequently.
