So we used Ferber a couple of months ago, because A was waking every 45 minutes to nurse and I just hit a wall and couldn't handle it anymore. It was great in teaching her to fall asleep on her own, but we have kept one feeding (usually around 1 or 2am). Once I feed her, I put her right back down in her crib, and she falls asleep without a peep and I don't hear from her again until morning.
The past few nights, I feed her, put her down, and she is quiet for maybe 15 minutes and then starts fussing, which soon turns to full out crying
Last night she woke at 1:00 and it was 2:30 before she settled again. I eventually got up and rocked her until she was almost asleep and then put her down. She fussed for a few minutes and then fell asleep until morning.
I don't think it is teething, since she is totally fine during the day (and she has 6 teeth already, so we are familiar with teething). I have tried giving tylenol and that doesn't seem to help, so I don't think she's in some other kind of pain. She is trying really hard to crawl right now, so maybe she's just practicing in the middle of the night and frustrated?
Has anyone else experienced something like this? Any insight?
Re: Has this happened to you?
We had to ferberize D1 a couple of times. It usually happened after a vacation or a switch in her daily routine but sometimes it happened randomly. We would give in to her wake ups for a week or so and if she didn't get back on schedule, we would whip out some ferber.
I can think of 2 times that we had to re-ferber but there may have been some small ones too.
