first, thank you to everyone who comforted me the day before my surgery, i needed it.
well, they did remove my one tube due to some type of infection. that infection also put a beating on my other tube. The doc said my other tube was also closed, but he was able to open it. the only problem he sees is the fimbri did not look good and he didnt see alot of them. So he said IVF should be next step. So im in shock and pretty depressed (nothing against IVF) i just never thought that would be my outcome. Esp bc we dont have the $ for that. But before i start to go down that path, i wanted to see if you all have heard of anything to grow fimbri or make them stronger (i know, this is probably stupid) but i figured you all were the best people to ask. I dont get to see my doc until next friday to get all the info (he told my mom and husband everything above while i was in recovery).
also, i think im suppose to move to the infertility board now, i just wanted to give you all an update and pick your brains one last time.

I'm so sorry! I was just now looking for you about the fimbrae but I could not find anything regarding strength remedies. That may be something to talk to your RE about or perhaps the ladies on IF are more knowledgable.
I hope you & your husband are able to discuss your options with regards to IVF. Is it possible to save for a while & then try it? I really hope that this is not the end of the line for you with TTC & your dreams of having a baby. You are in my thoughts.

I know what you mean, that IVF can be very intimidating or seem like such an aggressive "next step" if you haven't been thinking about it prior to that.

Unexplained IF. Tried Clomid for 3 cycles. All BFNs. BFP 1/6/13. Chemical pregnancy.
Moving on to IVF#1. ER 11/26/13, 16 eggs retreived, 12 mature and all fertilized. 2 blasts transferred on 12/1. All other embies arrested so nothing left to freeze. Beta 12/10 = BFN. IVF #2 March 2014. BFP!!! TEAM BLUE!!!

I'm so sorry and completely understand how you feel. Last month my HSG revealed blockage in both tubes and the dreadful IVF was brought up...it is devastating to hear. I cried for about 4 days and even now still hard to believe. I immediately started researching corrective surgey options...and honestly, IVF was invented for Tubal infertility, so surgery is rarely considered now due to the complications --additional scarring, likelihood of tubes re-closing, and increased incidence of ectopic pregnancy. Every case is different, so a RE will be best to help you figure out which option is best for you.
