Via text:
Me: Wanna hear the latest neighborhood gossip?
Him: Sure.
Me: Someone's knocked up!
Him: Who?
Me: ::insert picture of positive HPT::
Him: Are you pregnant?
Me: Yes, babe. I'm pregnant.
He then called me. He told me I must be fertile as hell.
How did you tell your family?
We told his parents a few weeks later, and we told my parents via onesie that Hank wore under his Xmas outfit. I had my parents change Hank's clothes after Xmas dinner. They took his button up shirt off and saw a white onesie that said, "Big Bra." My dad and his brother call each other "Bra."Did you have a feeling or symptoms pointing to the fact you may be KU? We were trying but I knew I was prego when my (TMI) nipples where real sensitive and I just felt different.
When did you test? We decided to wait till January to do the test and I POS and sure enough a BFP and it was a beautiful moment
What did you do after the positive test? I started to cry because I was scared & happy and then went to our bedroom and showed DH.
How did you tell your DH? Again we were trying and we decided to wait till January to POS and after I got my BFP I showed him we cried and hugged each other.
How did you tell your family? We waited till after the 1st Tri to let any of our family or friends know. With my SIL (DH Sis) we took her and her H out to dinner and then where like we have a surprise for you guys and showed them the US picture. With everyone else we sent a picture of the US and announced we were expecting. Everyone was Super Stoked.
* I didn't find out about TB until one of my OB appts. and I was given a TB book.

I didn't think I was, it was still a few days before my missed period.
When did you test?
I wanted to test priot to a party a I was going to on Saturday. I wanted to make sure I could drink. I took a test on Friday morning and there was one of those "super faint, maybe theres a line" lines. I retested on Saturday morning with a digital and BINGO!
What did you do after the postive test?
After the first very faint BFP I googled all day. On Saturday morning I couldn't sleep so I tested with the digital at like 4am. I of course couldn't sleep... I got up snuck out of the house, went to Meijers, picked up a travel coffee mug and some wrapping paper. I went home, wrapped up the PG test and put it under the Christmas tree. I then waited forever for DH to get up to open his present.
How did you tell your DH?
When DH finally got up I told him he had a Christmas present that he should open up early because he was in desperate need of it. (He was in need of a travel mug!) He opened it and found the BFP, it was fun!
How did you tell your family?
I told my Mom in a very similar way as DH and I got my Dad a Grandpa mug to open. We told DH's family on Christmas by having them open a Grandma pictureframe and Grandpa shirt.

Did you have a feeling or symptoms pointing to the fact you may be KU? I had a feeling I was due to lack of my usual PMS symptoms and the addition of very sore boobs. I always get sick the week before my period- like cold/flu sick- and I didnt that week, I knew something was up. I also had very sore boobs which I never have with PMS.
When did you test? 10 DPO was the first time because we were going to my best friend's Holiday party that evening so I wanted to be safe. The line was super faint and DH wasnt too convinced but I still abstained from alcohol. The next morning which was DH's birthday I went out in the morning and got a digital and it said PREGNANT!
What did you do after the postive test? I was so elated and emotional but had to hide that a bit because my stepson was there and we didnt want him to know yet if we were.
How did you tell your DH? He knew I was testing and was very excited. When the test came up PREGNANT I ran into the bedroom to show him.
How did you tell your family? We told them at Christmas. For my parents and grandmom we bought them mugs. My mom's said America's Next Top Grandma, dad was Grandpa to Be est. 2011, and my grandmom's said World's Best Great-Grandmom. We told DH's mom, grandma and sister on Chrismas Day. One of his sisters knew already so she made a bunch of onesies and we opened them Christmas morning. For DH's dad side we just called them because they are out of state and we wouldnt be seeing them for a while.
Did you have a feeling or symptoms pointing to the fact you may be KU? Nope I had no clue. We had been not preventing for over a year and I was convinced that I wouldn't ever be able to get pregnant on my own. My period was late and I just figured it would show up the next day.
When did you test? About 2-3 days after my period was MIA. I was certain that it would be negative, even though my period has NEVER been 2 let alone 3 days late.
What did you do after the postive test? I took another because I didn't believe the first even though it turned positive almost instantly. Then I sat down and pretended to play WoW, when that failed I went to the book store and bought a pregnancy book and a book for SO "How to deal with a pregnant woman" or something like that - thinking that's how I would tell him.
How did you tell your DH? I knew I couldn't text/phone him at work, because we weren't trying and I knew it would be something of a surprise. So I waited for him to get home from work (longest day of my life). When he got home we went through our normal "how was your day conversation" and he complained about a few people at work etc. The whole time I'm thinking "Just shut up so I can tell you!!!!" lol When he did finally ask me how my day was I kinda froze. I said "it was good blah blah, I have some news." Long pause "We're expecting!" He gave me a huge hug and then sat down and stared at me in shock... LOL Then the cat puked..... LOL
How did you tell your family? We told his dad over the phone (he lives 12 hrs away). SO called them on Thanksgiving morning to wish them a happy thanksgiving. He said to his dad "Happy Thanksgiving Grandpa!!"
My mom/family we were able to tell in person on Thanksgiving day. My mom hosts all of our holidays and my sister and her family had gotten there just before us and there was no one else there. SO looked at me and said "Are you gonna ask your mom about the books?" (My mom worked at Scholastic book fairs and bought boxes and boxes of books for my kids when I was in 6th grade and held on to them for me.) So I looked at my mom and said "Looks like we are gonna need those books soon!" She understood immediately, freaked out and tried to stand up (she had surgery on her knee a few weeks before) I rushed over to give her a hug before she could stand up.
::Sigh:: so hard to believe that he is almost a year old now..........
Teehee! Right?! I was so irritated. I remember he gave me his business card and I left it in the bakery section of Safeway on my way to check out. I hope some random kid found it and called him. LOL
I was 4 days late. My body was never late so I decided to test. I chalked it up as stress since my family dog just died from cancer and I was worried that my temp job would end and I wouldn't have another job lined up (it was supposed to be 2-4 week temp job. They hired me on full time 6 months later!) I took the test and the little plus sign came up.
My first words were "Oh god, oh god, oh god." I took the test with my downstairs to where XH was and showed him. He couldn't believe it either and we were trying to figure out what happened since I as on the BCP and I hadn't missed one in months.
Because it was so close to Christmas, we decided to wait to tell them as a gift. His mom guessed it because XH was so insistent on wanting to do gifts before the new year (she is a nurse so they never celebrate Christmas on Christmas). I made keychains that said Grandma and Grandpa for my parents to open. We told my siblings about a week before Christmas because we didn't want to wait. They were all shocked and happy.

Period hadn't started on CD 29 and my temp was still high. I thought, "no way!" when I saw the high temp, and I jumped out of bed to test!
When did you test?
CD 29...my cycles were like clockwork and the fact my temp was still up that morning, I was hopeful!
What did you do after the postive test?
Stared in disbelief and said, "oh my god, oh my god, oh my god..."
How did you tell your DH?
He could hear me from bed (I was in the master bathroom). He said, "honey, are you okay?" and I think I replied, "Oh my god!" and he said, "Really? Really? Wow...this is so great...really? Wow! Come here and give me a hug!" and we laid together in bed for a bit in disbelief.
How did you tell your family?
We waited to tell anyone until 8 weeks, after Christmas had passed and we had gone on a vacation together to Paris/Switzerland. We got back, had our u/s and then brought the photo with us to my IL's. Our dog was wearing an "I'm going to be a Big Brother" t-shirt, and then after my FIL said, "You're getting another puppy?" we pulled out the u/s pic. I just called my parents and was like, "so guess what??" Nothing special there really.

I don't think so. I was busy and stressed out with school and work, so anything different I probably attributed to stress.
When did you test?
Christmas Day - I tested at least once before that (too early), so I made myself wait until Christmas so that I wouldn't buy all of the HPTs at the store
What did you do after the postive test?
I really wasn't expecting it, and DH didn't know I was testing. I walked out of the bathroom kind of dumbfounded, and DH happened to be walking by. I showed it to him, but said I didn't know if it was right because it was a really inexpensive one and the line was really faint. I don't remember after that...it was Christmas, so we opened presents and stuff. I went and got a more digital test the next day (because I thought more expensive = more accurate lol) and retested. When that came back positive, we got excited.
How did you tell your DH?
See above. I had planned to do something more creative, but I was surprised, and the line was so faint, I didn't know whether to believe it or not.
How did you tell your family?
I called my mom and asked her if they when they were planning to come visit the next summer. I told her that she might want to postpone the trip for a little while. DH told his family.
