So I was totally floored to read that deleting comments is considered rude! 
I have done this a few times and had no idea. For what its worth, I wasn't ever being rude - I normally delete because I'm waffling on about myself and I realize that people probably don't want to read it.
So, apologies if that has offended anyone! I feel like a bit of a twit for inadvertently being rude.
