TMI: Nipple stuff?

I have noticed that my nipples have been SUPER itchy lately. Upon closer inspection, I found that there is what looks like dry skin (it is white and thick) stuck right in the center of the nipple.. what the heck is this?

Its colostrum, I have it too. Just make sure you wash your nipples in the shower and it should be fine.

When you say "wash", am I scrubbing them to get the stuff off or will it eventually come off on its own. I am so embarrassed to take my bra off in front of my husband.

When/after you have the baby, your husband's going to be seeing a lot more personal stuff than dry nip skin Tongue Tied

I had that issue last pregnancy too and it was actually my nipple skin peeling. I know it's super annoying and itchy Lanolin helped me a little bit but honestly nothing fixed it completely except having the baby.

I had this too and what it ended up being was dried lotion. Since I'm slathering up extra on my breasts and tummy to prevent dry skin, it was getting caught in the indentations on the nipple. It could also be colostrum as the others suggested. Either way, nothing to be embarrassed about. As others have said your DH will see far more personal and embarrassing things throughout labor, delivery and recovery.

I get it too, it might be gross but I just pick it off. I don't think it's a big deal. Hopefully you're hubby doesn't care.

I had some thickish skin in spots before I got pregnant. It hurts to mess with it. I also had a little bump that would get sore and when I would squeeze it, white stuff that look like stuff out of a whitehead came out. Last time I did it (because it was super sore and swollen and looked like it was going to pop) it was gooey and then liquidy. Super gross. The joys of pregnancy.

nipple crust is the least of his worries. He is gonna be wiping a babies bottom for at least two years..

Yup nipple crust. Try not to overwash though; it may irritate them.
