Another MIL vent!!!

So my MIL calls me on Monday and asks what we were doing yesterday because she wants to see ds before she goes away for a week on Thursday. I told her no problem that I would call her in the morning. I called her at 11am yesterday and told her that ds just went down for his nap but should be up in an hour if she wants to come for noon. She says no problem, she'll be there at noon and will bring lunch. Fast forward to 1:50pm and still no MIL and NO PHONE CALL!!! I called her and she says she was just about to call me that after she was done "getting stuff done" in the kitchen (keep in mind her house is like a hoarder's house) that she started reading and the book got really good so she got sucked in Indifferent She lives 15 mins away and wasn't even dressed yet when I talked to her. How the f*ck did she expect to pick up lunch and be at my house in an hour when she sat down to read? Now at this point I was beyond pissed and told her not to come over anymore because ds was going down for his 2pm nap and I was going to make a sandwich because I was starving. She tells me that she wasn't even hungry because she ate a bag of chips for breakfast. Really?! She called me three more times after that to see about coming over. Hello?! DS is sleeping! Stop calling the house!!! I told her no each time and I didn't even apologize.

Then she has nerve to call me again today whining that she wants to see him before she leaves tomorrow because she misses him so much. Well guess what lady! Too f-ing bad! I cannot stand being in the same room with her and was being nice allowing her to come over so early yesterday (normally I don't call her to come over until around 2pm or 3pm because she parks herself here for 8 - 10 hrs).

I'm sorry but I don't think I'm being unreasonable for not wanting her to come over tomorrow before she leaves. She is so rude and inconsiderate of people's time and does stuff like this all the time (though the reading was a new one). I'm just looking forward to not having to hide for a week while she's away. Thank you for letting me vent! I've been stewing about this since yesterday and hearing her message on my vm just now got me going again.

    That was very inconsiderate of her.  It's so hard planning visits with people because my son takes very short naps and doesn't stay up long between them.  And also you were waiting on her to bring you something to eat.  Maybe if you blow her off. will she be more prompt about visiting?

    This is one of the reasons I'm glad mine is 4 hours away.

    I wish she was 4 hrs away! She is always late so I'm not surprised but this time the reading thing pissed me off. I think she got the hint though because I didnt call her back. Maybe next time she'll think twice about being so rude!

    Thanks! I've definitely been putting her in her place since I got pregnant but it definitely helps that I don't care if she gets mad or not. My dh told me I'm above the law because I'm ds's gatekeeper so I could pretty much do or say what I want and she wont say much about it :)
