The Emotional Life of the Toddler

I just got this book today based on recommendations here. I am browsing the table of contents and noticed an entire chapter on Divorce. Why? That just seems like an entire book in itself and it seems odd stuffed in a general parenting book.

  • I guess divorce rates are high enough that it is a general parenting issue?

I would have to second this (though I am a divorced parent myself, hah). I have seen books specifically for divorce and children, but wouldn't think it is so common-place that they'd automatically add a chapter in a general parenting book. *shrug*

Supposedly the divorce rate is 50%, so sadly I'd say that's a pretty common issue. There are tips in the positive discipline book I read for how to handle divorce situations, although not an entire chapter devoted to the subject.
