Babies on the Brain

Unpopular Opinion, anyone?

I really dislike how popular the some ecards have gotten.  They were funny at first but now that EVERYTHING has a card, it's just not doing it for me.

Along those same lines, the explosion on FB of all the "like" if you're a good mom/you think this girl with cancer is beautiful/you support xyz is out of control.  There are some people who "like" 15 of these a day on my feed.  I like their personal status updates but I don't need to see everything else.

I agree with all of this.  Me liking a pic of whatever is not going to end world hunger.  Sorry.  Mine is that as glad as I am that SS is here visiting, I cant wait for him to go home on Saturday.  DH and I went from being stuck in a hotel room together for 2 months, to finally getting our house and a 6 yo.  Also, going from no kids in the house (this was his first visit, usually we go to Kansas to see him) to having a 6 yo around, is like going 0-90 all at once.  I just want to be alone for a little bit!  No DH always around, no SS around, just me.  This weekend will be awesome when DH leaves to take him back home.

Like "squeee I just bought this hair bow." That could be on here.

This was dh's cousin's fb post the other day

'What is up with this new "like if" culture on Facebook? I literally saw one today that read, "like if you wash you're hands everyday."

    1. Really?!!

    2. Wrong form of your

    3. Really!!?? What's next "like if you wipe your own a**", "like if you've ever successfully formed a sentence". I am seriously hating this new "like" culture. Digressing...'

I think she would agree with you :)

  • Some days (ok, most), I just want to tell customers to STFU and go away. Not all of them, just the rude/idiotic ones, like people who come through express lanes with 50+ items (seriously, 30 is ok with me. 50, no.); it's worse when there are big lanes open but they stop at the first express they see. Yesterday I had a woman loudly explain to me how incompetent I am because I had to call in to verify a money order. It's policy. We cannot cash a money order until we call the 1800 number with the money order numbers and write the confirmation number on the back. Yet I am an idiot and she doesn't deserve to be treated like that, and of course she's never shopping there again. I went the kill her with kindness/thinly veiled sarcasm route and told her repeatedly to have a nice day and here's your change, ma'am.

  • I give a big eyeroll to the newbs who come on and are all "omg I just got married and want a baby NOW!".  I already had a kid when I got married but I am really glad we waited a year to ttc because pregnancy would really have been a newlywed buzz kill.  We haven't had nearly enough sex and I'm sure DH would have thought I was the worst wife in the world if I had been so non-productive from the beginning.  At least we have that year of history to know what its really like.  Everyone needs that time.

I agree with all of this. I'm friends with a woman that recently had a baby and is now OBSESSED with children. Since becoming pregnant every. single. status. has been baby-related.

I finally had to hide her when she started to like/share everything. At LEAST ten times a day I get the "like if you think she is beautiful" or "this is real strength" along with pictures of kids in the hospital. So depressing.

She also joined a FB group for stay at home moms and for some reason whenever she comments on a post there it comes up in my feed. Some of the questions in that group make even the most ridiculous ones on TB look intelligent.

  • I don't necessarily know if this is a UO, but it's something I guess I just don't get. I hate when people put things on pinterest that are the complete opposite of who they are in real life. SIL does it all the time. She hates books, but she'll pin quotes about how reading is awesome, etc. She'll give me crap about liking xyz because its ugly/cheap/gross, but then put up pins about liking all of it. I don't get it.

  • Yep, it is annoying as all hell.
