6'1" too tall for heels? Opinions please!

Hi Ladies..... I need your opinions: I am going to a wedding this weekend and have to wear a dress. I am 6'1" and my best friend has been trying to convince my to wear heels forever and has loaned me a pair of three inch heels for the wedding. I love how I feel in them and I've noticed it DOES make your legs look nice as she says but I have never worn heels over 1" because I'm so self conscious. My husband is 6'5, and seemed to REALLY like it when I tried the outfit on for him LOLso I wouldn't be taller than him but I just feel insecure. My friend says I'm tall no matter what and I just need to own it and be confident. What do you ladies think? Is there a point where a tall girl shouldn't be wearing heels? What do you think when you see a tall woman in heels? Thanks for your honest opinions, I so appreciate them! Also, sorry for the lack of paragraphs. I don't know how to put them in on my iPhone.

    wear the heels! You're a tall lady - but w/ heels, as long as you're not taller than hubby, you're good! go for it!

    If I were that tall I would go for it, especially for a special occasion and since I would still be shorter than my significant other.  They make your legs look great and my hubby loves how they make my butt stick out.  

    If I see a tall girl in heels I get jealous because I'm 5'6".

    I am 5'9" and rocked heels when I worked all the time.  I vote wear them!

    ETA:  I wore heels and my hubby is 5'10".  I don't care if I am taller than him or not - it is only shoes.

    Thanks Ladies! I'm going to do it! May as well.... I've been wanting to for a long time but have always felt self conscious. I guess it's time to just get over it.... Thanks for your honest opinions!!

    Wear them! I`m only a little shorter than you and I`ll still rock the heels when I can. I know another lady through work that`s your height, she looks stunning in heels.

    ETA: Find a stunning pair that`s flattering to the leg line. I like slimmer heels myself. Chunky and wedge are hit and miss. I`ve had sucess with Nine West shoes, I`m a 10.

    I say go for it even if it made you taller than DH.  

    A few of my heels make me taller, but as long as I feel confident and like the way I look who cares?

    If you look good and love it, go for it!

    I'm 5'11 and wear heels! Do it, mama! My cousin is 6'3 and she still wears heels! Rock it! Stick out tongue

    wear them.  i'm 5'8 and frequently wear 4 inchers.  my cousin is 6'2, gorgeous, and rocks 4+ inch heels all the time. it's all about your attitude.

    I'm taller than you and wear heels.  Ultimately, you're taller than about 95% of the population and heels or no heels won't change that.  Wear them with confidence.  If you throw your shoulders back and stick your boobs out, noone is going to notice that you're in heels!

    LOL!  I'm 6'0" and though I rarely wear heels, I would totally wear them for a special occasion.  My DH is 6'4", so I've got some "room to grow" too.  I agree that heels make your legs look sexier and just force you to carry your body in a more confident way.  Put those heels on and don't think twice about it!
