our boys are 6 1/2 months..we do solids twice a day. i have been giving them solids before one of their bottles then a bottle..maybe an ounce less than their normal. then i read somewhere to do solids after the bottle? does it matter?
Solids should come after the bottle, since their bottle is still their nutrition source. If they fill up on solids, they won't get the caloric intake they need from the formula/breast milk.

my LO gets solids in between bottles. When it was once or twice a day it was about an hour or 1.5hrs before a bottle. Doc said as long as she is finishing the bottles and drinking at least 24oz a in a 24hr period it doesn't matter. Some days LO doesn't finish any bottle, other days she finishes and still wants more. Every day is a new story
I'm glad you asked this! I just started Rice Cereal yesterday and my pediatrician said to just give it before the bottle. They haven't been taking more than a table spoon so they still eat their bottles fine, but still I am curious what everyone else says.

After, our Pedi recommended feeding solids between bottles, DD eats every 3-4 hours so twice a day we give her solids an hour and a half after she nurses. Solids at this stage are meant to be "practice" and should be thought of as "dessert" because LO does not NEED the nutrition from them and it should in no way impact their formula or BM intake.
Proud babywearing, breastfeeding, vaccinating SAHM of 2U2!
Our LO won't take any if we don't offer it before bottle- when he's hungry. He drinks his entire bottle whether he eats solids before or after, so in our case it doesn't really matter.
