I'm kind of in love with it. I love Henry but dislike Hank and Harry. I feel like Huck is unconventional and fun, but he also has the full name of Henry to use if he prefers.
The responses here are pretty indicative of what I figure the general public would feel too (kind of split down the middle.) We still have some time to figure it out. I don't know why I'm such a fan of it... it just struck me!
Thank you everyone! I passed it by my husband and he's a big fan too. I did think about the unfortunate words that rhyme with Huck but I figure that most names can be teased for something. I don't want to rule it out just because of that.
Oh and Henry on it's own is great, of course. We're just a family of nicknames (my husband and i included). We're nickname-y people!
I don't think Henry needs a nn. Plus, your boys could be Chuck and Huck. (even though he doesn't go by Chuck, people could still say it).
I thought about the chuck and Huck thing too. That's definitely something to consider. So far we haven't had anyone even try calling Charlie Chuck, so hopefully it'll stay that way.
My nephews name is Huck and it is an adorable name on a 2.5 yo. I like the idea of Henry as a more formal name for an adult. I'm a nickname person myself though.
Henry is our choice if we have a boy. We will not be using nicknames as I am not a fan of any of them including Huck (which I've never heard before but it works if you really want a nn).

Thanks for the feedback.
I like it!
