A recent revelation on facebook showed that I and all of my mom friends view the dentist as a pleasant place to relax - a sort of a mini-vacation away from work and home. LOL Now, I'm wondering if that's common or we're all just nuts. So....bored and clicky...

No no no, not relaxing...I hate having my mouth messed with. I have a really small mouth, so any time they stick anything in there it hurts.
That's what she said.
Actually this would be for me too! I really hate going to the dentist! Now Target though, that's where I get my "me too", lol!

I would agree with this. I had a really bad experience when I was a kid. When I was four I needed a cap put on one of my molars and the dentist strapped me down to the chair (head, waist, and feet). My mom wasn't allowed in (it was early 80's) and he stuffed my mouth with cotton to I couldn't scream. My mom did walk in and totally went off on him and the proceeded to tell everyone in the waiting room what he had done. Everyone walked out.
So I still get super super anxious when I even think about going to the dentist. FIs aunt is a dental hygienist, so I think I am going to go there. It has been awhile since I've gone. But just the thought totally freaks me out.
I hate the dentist. I can't stand someone poking around in my mouth.
My cousin's husband is a dentist and he posted on FB today that one of his patients said going to the dentist was like Christmas. Huh???
